Hows everybody doing in the single player content? Whos got the card back already? The meta seems to have stabilized into cubelock and spiteful summoner, so i know Im really happy to enjoy some content that isnt ladder.

From FFDragon, last topic: T2 Swarmer + T3 Swarmer/Grave Mistake worked wonders actually.

I had no idea what Grave Mistake was. Looked it up, and yeah, I've yet to encounter the guy you'd get that from. That's with four 7-1 runs and one 8-0. Maybe he's more common than that, but not a strategy I'd want to depend on. Especially with it as a one-of.

From ColZach: I think shes likely the easiest, but people have said cannon man is easy and he seems tough to me. Same with dog boy.

I beat Shaw second try (after a dumb mistake on the first try), and it wasn't even competitive. Just nuked my enemies with 5/1 rush dogs and used Butch for a finisher when necessary.

No legend for me this month. Barely got to play at all last week because of work and didn't want to invest the time to climb from the top of rank 4 in the last two days.

I had the choice between the extra life treasure and the double health one right before that boss. Ended up going double health. Not sure if the extra life would've been better or not.

Played two games before the like maintenance kicked me off. Won both. First was against a Paladin who I just board cleared the entire time. The second was against a control warlock. I even drew Jaina like bottom 3 (he guldaned on curve). But his guldan pool was weak overall and he didn't run rin. I don't win though if I drew Jaina any later.

Oh man, I had a great game yesterday against a cubelock. I actually managed to out-value him to the point that he conceded with no cards left. I got off a dire frenzy on a hydra + bloodworm zombeast. That's four 10-mana 15/15 lifesteal beasts.

He probably still had a good chance to win if he played better. He Guldan'd for a single Doomguard when I had a freezing up. Didn't play Umbra at a time when he could cube right away. Not sure if he was just bad or if he simply underestimated my deck and thought he was in a really cozy position, or what. But it felt good.

My newest toy:

Everything 3-mana or less is basically just spell hunter. But then I run:

With DK Rexxar and Dire Frenzy, obviously. Really having fun with this one so far.

So I haven't had the time to play for the last few weeks other than a few games here and there, and because of that I hadn't actually come across an Even Paladin deck. I just assumed it was the same Aggro Paladin stuff that we've all been seeing, but it turns out it's more of a Midrange deck.

This isn't news to anyone but me, but I'm super excited to play it now. I love playing the highest value card in my hand every turn.

you learn something new every day....I'd never seen the interaction between Skull of Ma'nari + Doomsayer where a just-top-decked demon will drop before Doomsayer triggers. Was just facing cubelock and his first turn of skull whiffed, and he played doomsayer, next turn he draws a voidlord and it drops and instantly dies. Caused my freezing trap to hit a voidwalker. >_> And yeah, he top-decked doomguard next turn. boo.

So, Caltrops is a really bad perk to take against Godfrey. So far, all it's doing is giving him free triggers for his Hogger and Grim Patrons...

Also, Clockwork Automaton doesn't double the damage of your cannons.

Doesn't Skull do it's effect before cards are drawn? I know I've misplayed before trying to burn the Warlock's cards and it'll just summon a demon before drawing normally.

The voting is supposed to be based on how strong they were during their meta, not how good they are now.

Dr. Boom may not be great right now but to say he wasn't one of the strongest cards during his peak is wrong.

I beat my first monster hunt, with Shaw. I wound up making a taunt deck with two hadronoxes and a total +4 health to all minions which REALLY came in handy. I also had that, I think 2/8? rush minion who turns into an 8/8 if it survives and attack who also was good for me.

I'm 100% certain his skull whiffed a turn and that he played a Doomsayer that same turn. I'm 99.9% certain a voidlord was killed by the Doomsayer. Because there was this moment where the voidwalkers appeared and I was like "damn, waste of a trap" but then I realized they couldn't attack yet that turn. Then next turn he had a doomguard and I was sitting there hoping he'd misplay and attack with it first. But he played correctly and it triggered on a voidwalker.

Undertaker was like Stanley Ipkiss levels of reality breaking. We had to jump away from that darker timeline to survive.

Undertaker was the most overpowered card in the game, hands down. It was stronger than Tunnel Trogg. Turn 4 6/7 was a thing alongside 2/1 leper gnome, loot hoarder, among other stuff. Haunted creeper too.

I kind of wish I could go back and relive that meta briefly. I remember Undertaker being powerful, but I was still learning the game then, and Undertaker never felt like the worst offender to me. Or even really much of an offender at all. It basically did what Hyena did, but not as well because there was no Unleash the Leper Gnomes card.

Undertaker was before my time, but I matched up against many Dr. Booms as a free to play player with a mostly basic set.

The thing about undertaker was...it happened so soon in the game. Turn 1, Undertaker, fml. Turn 2, double deathrattle 1 drops? Concede.

Dr. Boom was super powerful but didn't leave as bad of a taste in your mouth because you actually got to play the game for a while before he crushed your dreams.

Undertaker meta sure was diverse though, so many different decks were viable

running Kathrena is the first time I've ever experienced this feeling where you lose the game because you draw a specific card from your deck when it's the only card you can't draw.

like turn 8 incoming, I have Kathrena in hand, King Crush is the guaranteed recruit with 15+ cards left in my deck, as long as I don't draw him....well, fuck. there he is, and I'm one mana short to play him.

I really only remember hunter being a thing. Hunter was easily the ideal class for it since the hero power, quick shot, kill command, and Always Huffer (tm) made for easy burst if your opponent ever turned the corner.

I was usually more bothered by Dr. Boom, though. Dr. Boom was the capstone that just said if you weren't massively ahead, you just lost. It was like Mysterious Challenger that way. All too common for an opponent to play Sylvannas on 6, Dr. 7, and then Rag on 8.

However, this might have had something to do with Boom being a legendary, and therefore I didn't have it. I was also far more furious about cards that I got beaten by that I didn't own. For a long time, I didn't have a single copy of Equality, and I would fume over Pyromancer and Consecrate clears that I thought were absurd and broken and unfair and and and...

This happens to me all the time with any card that references the deck. Spiteful Summoner, Possessed Lackey, etc. It's not usually that you lose the game on the spot because of it, but I've certainly had it happen.

This is, of course, ignoring obscure situations where every card is an out but the one you get.
