Okay, it looks like Trump's fake ass bond may be denied and the countdown to taking his shit could resume and that he's going to have to sit and spin in misery as people talk about how bad he is in bed in the coming weeks

So, what's the DEM that's gonna swoop in and buy him some time again? I don't wanna get my hopes up again

Here is how a day will go. Trump will likely have to be at the courthouse sometime between 8-8:45 and will be expected to be in place at the courthouse ready for trial at 9. When the trial starts for the day, in front of him and around him will be people he hates. You of course have Judge Merchan as well as Alvin Bragg and his legal team. In addition he is going to have to sit there and hear people testifying against him some of which are people he hates. This will go on until sometime between 11:30 and 1. At that point he will get a 90 minute break for lunch. After the break he is back in the courtroom until 4-5 just sitting there with people he hates all around him.

Now there is no doubt that going into the courthouse, during the lunch break, and at the end of the day he will rant and rave to the press. However for about 7 hours a day he is going to be in a situation where the only audience he gets are the ones in the courtroom. It is not televised or streamed so there is no audience at home he can pander to and use for his campaign. The only pictures of him sitting in court will be courtesy of drawings by a sketch artist.

Once the day is over his reward is knowing he has to be back in the same situation again and again until the jury reaches a verdict.

He won't last three days before his outbursts start interrupting the trial. He'll be daring the judge to throw him in jail. Hopefully Merchan obliges.

While I absolutely believe he should suffer consequences, I also worry about how that will affect/galvanise his fanbase

Monday, it is, then? I'm still holding onto some skepticism for some delay to kick in in the 11th hour, but... seems like Trump will be in court on Monday morning.

I'd love for him to say he's too sick to be at court. I'd grant the motion immediately as judge because I know his dumb ass would be seen on live TV later that day obviously doing fine and I'd hold him in contempt. Alternatively if he's so committed to that lie where no one sees or hears from him for the whole trial, I consider that a win as well.

These guys are being charged like they were acting alone. Like if one singular dude trespassed on capitol hill and vandalized / stole shit, I can see 8 years being reasonable.

No one is actually being sentenced like the treasonous attackers who took part in a failed coup that they are.

And I hesitate to say "Do it, motherfucker," because (1) I recognize that my ass will almost certainly not be in the line of fire and (2) I find "ends justify the means" thinking to be reprehensible.

But disease can't be allowed to fester any more than it has already. And that's what this all boils down to: a bunch of sick, selfish individuals who would rather burn everything down and rule over the ashes before ever losing their unearned "status."

The only things that will weigh on the sentencing is the crimes and prior convictions. You have a victimless crime that resulted in the lowest of level felonies. He hasn't ever been convicted of a crime. Civil judgements won't count and neither will unresolved charges i.e. D.C, Mar-a-Lago, and the Rico case.

My prediction is he gets a fine and couple of years of probation. I know people will be upset if this is the outcome of the Manhattan case but they shouldn't be. Anyone else would get similar punishment.
