Holmes and Moriarty looking over information and coming up with a plan to save Shinjuku together while King Arthur and Jeanne D'Arc bicker in the background is why the Fate franchise is so amazing to me. I absolutely love this stuff lmao

That's the bonus you got. Every EoR chapter gives bonus bond to certain types of Servants. For Shinjuku it's evil Servants, for Agartha it's female, for Shimousa it's Knight classes (Saber, Archer, Lancer), and for Salem it's Casters

They usually fast track animation updates though so it's not out of the question we get them, say, anniversary or something.

Also, one last fun tidbit: do you like Isaac Asimov? Because Shinjuku is based on one of his works. Every EoR is built out of a crossover between two literary properties with a secret third property forming the hidden core of the story. It's an insanely cool concept and they do a lot with it.

It's like, actually painful for me to consider skipping story content. I definitely want to play through SERAPH though.

Eh, I think Agartha is garbage and the worst chapter too (for the reasons mentioned above) but I wouldn't say skip it. You can, but since you're playing EoR anyway I'd just go through it.

The whole thing does seem hella offensive but at least the made Columbus into a scumbag.

AND he gets a mini NP battery? He's better than Hans IMO. I'm trying to level up the different support casters so I have options other than Waver. I've got Hans, Bill, and Paracelsus mostly done (need stupid evil bones to finish Paracelsus)

It is a monumental character assassination of one of the most pivotal women in fiction. Most other characters are also portrayed very poorly as well. I would not skip it but it REALLY sucks.

I think I'm just gonna play it. I can farm more prisms, get more Saint Quartz, and it won't absolutely murder my OCD to skip story content.

From OtakuDaiKun's overview and what you guys have said, the premise for this singularity had SO MUCH potential and it just got ruined by horrible writing thanks to the writer's poorly disguised fetish.

I am ashamed to admit I haven't read a single Asimov story. I absolutely LOVED the Shinjuku plot with the different phantom spirits and Moriarty's plan, so I'd probably love whatever story it's based off of, too.

So, spoilering this just in case -- Shinjuku's two base stories are Sherlock Holmes and Demon City Shinjuku. The 'true story' behind them?

'The Ultimate Crime' by Isaac Asimov, of course. It was in Moriarty's NP name all along!

Also they hand out rare prisms for free fairly often, it ain't a big deal so don't worry about it

Excluding any knowledge of Agartha and going purely off character design, Scheherazade looked like a character I'd want to pull for.

I realized I was reading it wrong, did not need any rare prisms and got Seraph for free. Will play that before Agartha.

So I got the SERAPH event from the rare prism shop, but can't find it in my list of things to start...

But I also got the Dantes event and decided to start that. GOOD LORD the drops in this one are SO GOOD. Two levels in and I got like all the evil bones I needed for an ascension, along with some hearts of the foreign god.

Also Dantes is AWESOME in this game so yeah

LOL yeah, even back when it cost 5 RP the Dantes Event was like the one case where it was probably worth the cost simply based on the rewards it gave out. Plus, it's good to run it since it is canon and actually the most recent story drop in Japan mentioned it had spoilers for it so it should be connected.

As for SERAPH, I believe it should be listed under Main Interludes. Should be at the bottom of the story list. Either under Fuyuki or "Arc 1" (I forget when it puts them in an Arc 1 Folder but I think you may have to start Cosmos in the Lostbelts for it to do that so you may not have that yet)

Oh okay I finally found it. What a hassle. But I'll knock out this Dantes event before getting into SERAPH later.

I want to say: I despise the extra health bars. It was probably necessary to boost the difficulty in some way, but having to break those is so frustrating (Thanks, Merlin)

LOL get used to break bars, they're standard going forward. They saw the truly absurd damage numbers players could put out towards the end of Arc 1, especially once Merlin was released (he became summonable with the release of Solomon) and this was their solution so that players couldn't just 1 turn everything if they didn't give every boss millions of HP.

Yeah its definitely necessary because it stops fights from being cake walks. With proper set ups you can get a Servant to do 10s of millions of HP in one turn so gating enemy phases on HP alone with no break bars doesnt work well.

Yeah the alternative to break bars is you legit just can't have meaningful design or drama in boss fights because Masters started scaling in power exponentially. Technically that's also their own fault, but hey

If you ever wondered why break bars are a thing, just think back to the Cu Alter bossfights in America and how shitty they were. Now consider they released a remaster memorial quest of those once that was just 'what if those three arrows were just one fight, where calter has two break bar pips and ascends as he advances through them?'. Immense improvement tbqh.

So I just finished the Dantes story part, and saw the last node there, thinking it would be a simple wrap up quest.

No. It was fighting all 7 of the fuckin Lords of the judgment tower again. It took me 52 turns and the better part of 45 minutes SMMHHHHH.

Got great rewards for it though I suppose. All those tickets will come in handy here in a few weeks too I imagine.

This SERAPH story feels like a horror story. WAY more at stake, it seems like. A lot of ppl really like Meltryllis but I dislike her design so I'm not sure. I am LOVING BB so far though. She seems like some kind of Eldritch horror AI and it makes me realize that humans should stop making AI better at such an exponential rate.
