I'm still not eating very well, but working on it. Feel like I'm already beginning to see some changes in my physique, though very subtle ones. I wanna be thin but ripped. Averaging around 2300 calories a day. 98g sugar, 82g protein, 267g carbs, and 99g fat. Seem to have lost a couple pounds (140 to 138ish), but I need to commit to pushing that sugar down and eating more protein. Struggling with the protein in particular, may have to start busting out the protein shakes.

Seems like you've got a good look at what you're eating, enough to see where you need to cut and the gain.

Quite a lot of sugars and fats, not enough protein

Keep it up

Yeah, cutting back really shouldn't be that tough. The sugar, carbs, and fat are largely a result of all the ice cream I eat. Just stop that, and I'm good there. The trouble is I work in a diner where they serve lots of milkshakes, and there's often a little left in the mixing cups. What's a man to do, let them throw it away? I must be a stronger man, and dump it down the drain myself instead. The protein isn't that much more difficult, I have not one but three containers of protein powder at home. And yet for some reason I rarely use it. Simply replace the milkshakes with the protein shakes, and I've taken a huge step toward my goal.

Way too much sugar. If you're drinking soda or eating ice cream, cut that stuff out right now.

5'9. I'm a (treadmill) distance runner, sometimes bike to work, do weighted chin-ups when I have any time off from work, and average around 10.5k steps a day, so I imagine I burn more calories than the average person. In truth I don't look too bad, but I've always had body image issues and felt I kinda trend toward what some would refer to as skinnyfat. After years of wondering about it, I decided to see what effects changing my diet would have. Now that I've found my baseline, time to practice some discipline.

You are already 138 lbs. You're not gonna lose much weight anymore, and you shouldn't be concerned about it.

Worry more about muscle fitness and healthy eating. You'll probably gain weight as you get more ripped.

Instead of focusing on the scale, you might want to consider other ways to improve your fitness and well-being. For example, you could try some strength training exercises to build muscle and tone your body. Remember, there is no ideal weight for everyone, but there is an ideal weight for you. And you are the only one who can decide what that is. But with that said, you might not want to be looking at losing weight. Building up muscle takes food. And it is hard to cut and bulk at the same time. And full disclosure I don't eat what I should at all. So I am not following my own advice. Like today I just had 500 cals and felt bad when I had one Sweet tart . So I personally no the issues one can face when they are trying to make it to the body they want.

EDIT: Sorry I saw your issues with losing weight at your size and forgot that you said you were having 2300 calories. I am going to leave this up in case someone else needs to read it. But TC is eating. But still don't know why he is trying to get smaller.

2300 is a LOT by the way. If you're trying to cut.

Try to target 1200. It's doable. But requires mindfulness.

Id recommend seeking medical advice. From a nutritionist or certified nutrition coach. At your height and weight your within normal weight range and you probably just need to add a bit of muscle which will help shed a little of your fat

You may actually need to up your calories if youre loosing weight at 59 138. And I would recommend doing so through whole food carbs seeing as how you enjoy cardio so much. You must be depleting a lot of glycogen which is only restored through carbs. If youre already lean and still losing weight it could be muscle wasting. So also try incorporating resistance training. Dont exercise on a caloric deficit and dont cut carbs if you exercise a lot. Youll be miserable before long

The calories aren't the problem at his weight. He doesn't need to lose any more weight. It's the lack of nutrients that he's getting for those 2300 calories. The crappy sugars are the main problem that I see.

He said that he was drinking people's leftover milkshakes while working at a restaurant. Sounds like trolling, so IDK if this is serious.

I've ranged from 125-155 since high school. Looked pretty bad at both extremes tbh, though I was much healthier at 125. I was biking everywhere, and could go all day. Looked pretty scrawny though, not really trying to get back to that.

It's not that I'm trying to lose weight necessarily, it's that I'm trying to recomp to something that looks a little better. And eat healthier in general. Eating 2300 calories per day doesn't really Smack of anorexia, I wouldn't think.

Yeah, I'm not looking to cut calories really. Just looking to cut down on sugar and increase protein. I'll keep it up with the carbs for now, I suppose.

Varies depending on workload/motivation. I'm ranging from 50-72 hours a week at work (which pumps up my steps because I have to do a lot of walking), but I always do a 5-13 mile run on my day off or the slowest day if I don't have one. Over the past couple weeks in addition to the 11ish miles on off days I'm down to around 5-10 more here and there. My feet kinda hurt too much now to do as many as I used to.

smh the milkshakes are made in a steel cup, then transferred to another cup for the customer
the waitresses give me what remains in the steel cup in either an attempt to sabotage my diet, a suggestion that I need to gain weight, or an attempted act of kindness
when somebody hands me some milkshake, it's difficult to throw it out

If youre running that much you definitely dont need to cut calories. Just eat as much as your body craves, preferably not milkshakes lol

Stick with whole food carbs for the bulk of your diet. Whole grains, whole wheat, starchy foods like potatoes and brown rice. And lots of leafy greens. You need to load up on glycogen to fuel your amount of activity and thats the kind of diet marathon runners and Olympians typically eat. I strongly recommend you do not lose anymore weight
