I'm just assuming that the world allows for the existence of all of these things simultaneously, somehow, and that you're either chosen immediately or it turns out that you were always one and just didn't realize it.

The funny part is that the obvious best answer, Starfleet Officer, is definitely going to lose, because of the high death rate when extras interact with specifically Kirk.

Can't Green Lanterns do like anything? Even accounting for your extra-tier restriction it's got like a universal translator, right? That automatically makes it high tier. Though Jedi might have that too with force shenanigans? Pretty sure at least some of them explicitly did in the old EU.

Not familiar enough with Star Trek to say how great that option would be. Like my understanding was it's more that the society is mostly post-scarcity than anything about the individuals themselves.

The answer for these is always Pokemon Trainer.

Does Pokemon Trainer use anime physics? Ie, if my Charizard flamethrowers me I just get covered in soot?

-Can get badass armor
-Keyblade itself can basically transform into anything including a transportation vehicle
-Can body hop or do Xehanort style shenanigans
-Can do Master of Masters style shenanigans
-Can't lose it barring special circumstances
-You can mess with reality
-You can summon
-Can travel to other worlds
-You can revive people
-Skeleton key to unlock anything

Went wizard/witch without a second thought because I thought basic magic users could still conjure material out of thin air but then I remembered the Weasleys are "poor" in-universe so maybe overestimated things... well, still.

A world with replicators and holodecks is pretty appealing just from a basic human comfort perspective. But there's a world of difference between a "safe" starfleet assignment and, say, being another body in the meatgrinder of the Dominion War. Or the aforementioned redshirt, sure.

Easy win for Pokemon Trainer. Oh, I'm not main character? So what, those fools have to bend over backwards to save the world. Me, I can just go about my way, training some pogeys. Maybe I'll become a Gym Leader, or a Professor, or maybe I can one day become an Elite 4 champion. Heck, I could even join the baddies, or become a park ranger. Rando Pokemon trainer with their choice of starter is -stress, +choice. That's totally cooler than being a 10 year old tasked with travelling the world alone, fulfilling someone else's vanity project, while fighting every single villain. All of them. Team Rocket Grunts used to run around carrying whips. You think that was for their pokemon? No dude, they were for uppity preteens. If it's between Ash, Gary, and ??? I'd happily let someone else be Ash, or even Gary.

And actually, right now I'm just picturing Brock being just such a case. Dude probably took Charmander because, duh, fire! After a total cake walk and capturing something like a Pidgey and a Caterpie he walks into Mt. Moon and a solo Geodude roflstomps his team. Realizing Rock. Beats. Everything. he travelled just far enough to get an Onix (rock on), then devoted the rest of his life to being the gatekeeper who keep total noobs from venturing off into the dangerous parts of the world.

I'm not entirely sure how most of those would interact with my existing life so I just went with the pet Bulbasaur.

I don't trust people who don't answer Pokemon Trainer.

Wizard/Witch is the most gain for least responsibility.

Starfleet Officer is the choice that gets you the great future and tech, but you still have to serve in Starfleet.

Animorph is probably really good if you don't have to deal with all the extra shit.

Jedi, Green Lantern, Keyblade Wielder, Persona User all have responsibilities and creed related to them. They're not hobbies - they're lives (Persona User less so).

Bender is honestly a little underwhelming, though an airbender for flight could be cool. Ghostbuster is worthless.

Pokemon Trainer is probably just super fun with everything that goes into that.

The answer is the one where I'm most likely not to be killed off in some sort of mass killing spree or catastrophic disaster, and that's probably Pokemon Trainer.

Gotta go with Wizard. Even extras get wands, and they're of varying power levels. Apparition would be very useful. Also really no downsides aside from maybe splinching.

But you can already go Michael Vick and become a Pokemon (sorry, dog) trainer in real life

Green Lantern would be pretty cool. Theres no off planet threats in our actual galaxy that were aware of so youd basically always be on Earth and even the extra tier characters can do cool stuff

The way some of you are interpreting it, this world is gonna be in bad shape from the abuse of every one of these powers. A peaceful life may not be an option then.

Yeah, Pokemon Trainer is probably dead last for me. I would like to think I couldn't stomach making subservient creatures fight for fame, fortune, and amusement.

I picked Witch/Wizard not knowing about the in-universe specifics of the trade in HP. In fact, I have limited or no experience with most franchises listed here.

I think Harry Potter wizard allows fairly versatile magic but the execution can be difficult, hence needing at least a K-12 education in it.

Harry Potter witches/wizards is too screwy. You can straight up make yourself explode or have some other horrible thing happen to you if you screw up slightly.

Persona User is interesting though, specifically because "What would an Extra-tier Persona user even be/do with that power?" rather than actually being a good choice though

Conjuration/alchemy(lead into gold, etc) is more than possible in a lot of magical univegses it's just always a massive taboo for obvious reasons.

I dunno, most of the other rings are either bad guy rings or wouldn't be very useful on Earth since our atmosphere scatters blue light. Green is simple, and the one most associated with humans.
