Hello. My name is Chris and I have had a lot of medical problems in my life and the past two years have been very rough for me emotionally. I sincerely apologize to anyone on here who I have been a bad friend to I have been going through the ringer and trying to take care of myself and it isn't looking the greatest so operation 'time not to die' has been activated where I fight through my emotional demons and physical pain and I just don't die because today scared the hell out of me. Passing out sucks and is super scary and I am not ready to leave yet.

Making this topic as a reminder that it is time I stop stress eating and pity eating and time to take care of myself even if it is hard to love myself most days.

I've been struggling too, although for different reasons. Stress eating is something I struggle with also. What I've come to realize is this (if you don't want advice, just ignore this): Play to win, don't play "not to lose" - death is losing. Keep going to actually win at life instead of dying inside and doing the bare minimum to survive.

I have to find a way to turn things around. Whatever that may be. I have to actually make it happen, whatever is is. That starts with new habits to balance things out.

You can do it, my friend! I'm here if you need me.

Actually bothered to cook dinner that was high in protein and delicious. Went for a long walk and worked up a sweat.

Basically if I can overcome my thyroid issues diabetes isn't going to be an issue at all. I don't have blood sugar problems when I am active. Thankfully.

My life has been really sucky lately too with family stuff and I've also been struggling. So you're not alone! Good job being active.

So yeah. Pre-diabetes ain't gonna be shit if you get your weight under control, and it's not even that bad really. Do you eat a lot of sugary things? If you lived up here, I'd hit the gym with you!

My husband, ironically also named Chris, is also 6'4''. He wishes he weighed 280.

Ironically the first thing I asked when I met him was "are you Sir Chris from gamefaqs" because he liked playing paladins in D and D, and I remember when we first met you told me you were a noble paladin.

He's about 10 years on you agewise though.

Hopefully this story will cheer you up. You have always been a good guy Chris. My family has thyroid problems so I have to have blood work done every year. So far so good. But thanks for the reminder I need to have that done this year.

I appreciate the words of encouragement.

Day 3 and my calories are at around 1700 and I have had minimal carb in take for the day. Going to end the day with a home made smoothie that I am going to stuff full of blueberries, spinach, and chia seeds

My body aches from moving around so much but my blood sugar after just two active days is now in the 140s non fasting so that's already much better.

It is nice seeing you again, shake. It has indeed been awhile.

Nice to see you as well, alanna. It is true I do enjoy good paladin role plays so that's funny how that works out.

Also drak leave it to you to think of me as a savage fighter. Memories on top of memories.

Apparently if I am moving around a decent bit 2200 calories for my height/weight is going to lead to nice steady weight loss so I am trying to keep that in mind and not go too low on the counts or otherwise I will want to eat someone's face lol

I will! I kept you in mind but I have been going through a lot of health issues this year with my thyroid so hopefully next year is better times.

Just trying to stay positive and remember that I am not the worst. It's hard. I have had a lot of things shoved on me in life and I am just trying to remember that like, I am not doing the worst or anything. Things can get better. 280 isn't near my heaviest and I can lose weight from here I just have to break bad habits.

Day 4 and I clocked in around 2000 calories. I felt a little sad today so I had several servings of almonds which are much better for me than chips.

Cooked myself some salmon. Seasoned it with lemon pepper and some Cajun seasoning and it was delicious. Had some cauliflower rice on the side which brought dinner to about 850 calories.

Went for a walk after even though my left leg is still sore. Feel better for having done so.

Have you read the book Atomic Habits? Its a very good book about habits (both making good habits and getting off bad habits).

Of course standard disclaimer that a book is no substitute for therapy, and a book such as this wont be as helpful without action.

In any case, take things one day at a time. Little by little, you can get yourself in a better place.

If it makes you feel any better, you're not alone. I struggle to barely survive most days and despite recently starting therapy it hasn't helped in the slightest. Everything my therapist has suggested has only made me feel worse and all or our sessions feel like wasted time because all of it is just me speaking what I think out loud and not getting feedback that helps.

Okay so last year my engagement ended and I moved on too fast with someone else. She tried her best but she has her own demons as well. I have made the decision to end my relationship with her because although she is wonderful in many ways she is also emotionally abusive due to her own trauma.

This kind of sucks but ultimately I hope this will help me heal in the long run. I shouldn't have to feel traumatized enough to take bad actions from another person. So I won't anymore.

In January this year I weighed 323, I'm 6'0. Been big my entire life, obese for most of it. Never since birth was I in any form of decent shape. Never believed it was something I could do.

Weigh 185 today. Nothing about it has been easy, and I'm positive there are things I could be doing more efficiently. I personally still see the same thing when I look in the mirror, but my clothes are smaller and I've got that flying squirrel thing going so

Anything is possible. I believe in you and you can do this.
