While it's on my mind since it has two songs up today, I figured now would be a good time to point out to those who didn't know, Beauty and the Beast was intended, from the beginning, to be eventually adapted into a Broadway musical, which is why you see many Broadway-like elements with its musical numbers that you hadn't seen to such a degree in prior Disney films (a genuine opening number that introduces the characters and gets the story rolling, two big ensemble numbers, a climactic villain song, etc).

tbh choosing between Be Our Guest and I Just Can't Wait to Be King is brutal, because those two songs are so similarly grandiose that I love them for the same reason.

I'd say all this is related in the reverse way too: The music and its plot integration was hugely responsible for the Renaissance being so great. Part of why it ended was Disney no longer caring to do that; most of the early 00s movies had a good song or two (Brother Bear in particular) but they didn't get woven in as intricately.

Match 2 and 4 were fairly easy for me. Match 3 was closer, but I Just Can't Wait to be King is just a bit more fun. Match 1 was super hard. I feel like I could vote in that match 10 times on 10 different days and it would come out to a 5-5 tie.

I don't think Phil would be a particularly good fit for several villain songs tbh. His voice is too friendly, so even when he's ripping his ex-wife a new one (think "I Don't Care Anymore"), it doesn't sound as vicious as the lyrics actually are. (Remember: I have seen him live.)
