Pyre > Hades > Transistor > Bastion
Hades is probably objectively their best gameplay output but personally I adore the visual novel style of Pyre the most. Also Pyre is the most overlooked of their games nowadays and that makes me sad, but they did remember it for Thanksgiving this year! https://twitter.com/SupergiantGames/status/1463910559020052484?t=iUkFIZr399C3KuZSKm08TQ&s=19 --- You were the cancer, that's all you'll ever be I really messed up this contest, but azuarc gave it a Breath of fresh air ... Hades > Pyre > Bastion > Transistor
Hades is just straight up the culmination of everything they learned during the previous games and holy moly is it outstanding. I really wish I liked Transistor more than I do. It's "okay" but it should really be a smash hit for me since its setting and mood are 1000% up my alley. I just feel like what they were trying to do with the gameplay didn't land at all. The lockouts on death were supposed to encourage experimentation, which is cool, but ultimately it just feels like an unfun punishment when you lose access to whatever ridiculous combos you were rocking - and different loadouts are far from equal. --- Let the voice of love take you higher, With this gathering power, go beyond even time! ... Pyre is probably the best. The characters and story were too notch, and it had my favorite soundtrack.
Bastion has a soft spot for being the first game I really got into (I always played games, but not hardcore until then). Hades was good, but I'm not a huge fan of rogue likes. Transistor was just meh --- ... Copied to Clipboard!

Bastion > Transistor > Hades > Pyre for me
My love of Bastion is admittedly probably influenced by the fact that it came first, but the narration, the art, and just everything made that experience something special. Transistor was neat and was an interesting twist on action combat. The story felt compelling too, but it overall left less of an impression on me. Hades is a very well-designed game, but roguelikes/roguelites rarely do it for me. I basically escaped once and then checked out of the game. Pyre was interesting but the main mechanic of the game made it so I could no longer use the characters I cared about the most, and then I lost interest and stopped playing. --- Ginhyun https://imgur.com/t7G7uoU ... Hades > Transistor > Pyre > Bastion
Hades is easily my favourite and Transistor is definitely second but the other two are very close. Bastion beats Pyre for gameplay but I preferred Pyre overall. The other thing that gives Pyre an edge is that it's very different to any of the other games whereas I feel like Bastion gameplay is a bit similar to Hades but Hades surpassed it. All excellent games though; I'd highly recommend any of them. malyg posted... also The Spine best song Yes. ... Copied to Clipboard!

Absolutely suck at those types of games, but the Hades progression made even a guy like me who plays everything on easy actually perserve and clear the game normally by improving bit by bit. I didn't care much for Bastion in a recent replay, but it was so cool once upon a time when it came out.
It was the first game that caught my attention for what a narrator in a game could do. Like...Portal was doing it do to some degree beforehand, but Bastion really nailed the sense of having a oersonal narrator first. That soundtrack was crazy too -- not perfect, but varied and exciting. I tried to get into Transistor twice and could not get myself to go far either time. Bastion>Hades>Transistor>Pyre
All are excellent, but Bastion is possibly the game that most subtly and beautifully has ever used New Game Plus to tell a story of all time. No one can convince me that that running Restoration into Evac isn't how the game was meant to be played. No new gamepaths, no new content, nothing...and yet, a completely different experience even so. For that, for its soundtrack, and for introducing me to Logan Cunningham's voice acting at its best, I just have to give it the nod over the much more mechanically sound Hades. Each of these games is like a 9/10 at the lowest, and I would heartily recommend them to anyone. --- Shine on, you crazy diamond. ... Copied to Clipboard!
