DC Porky Colourist has had it with execs at the company after they announced in their recent issue to make the Man of Steel's Son BISEXUAL and says he is QUITING over that decision as well as making the iconic patriotic slogan change as well!!.

Gabe Eltaeb announced he was quitting on a youtube livestream while talking with fellow DC Comics worker, Ethan Van Sciver as he said he'll serve out his contract with them before leaving yelling "I'm tired of this s***" and to scrap the slogan "Truth, justice and the american way" in favour of "truth, justice and a better tomorrow" was "f***ing nonsense" to him

He continued "I'm tired of them ruining these characters. They don't have a right to do this. What really pissed me off was saying truth, justice and a better world. F*** that, it was truth, justice and the amerian way. My grandpa almost died in WW2; we don't have a right to destroy s*** that people died for to give us. They call us bigots and racist and s***,i would ask them, find me in the f***ing mainstream, not on the fringes, one f***ing book, one f***ing t-shirt, one movie that says that leftism is bad, and conservatism is good, find it for me, they f***ing wont, they're not letting people have a voice, they're the f***ing bigots. Sorry, that's been bottle up for 5 years and i'm a proud conservative American and Superman should always be a figure for the right. We've now bent down to the woke crowd to make him gay and i promise you he will not be a weak superman because of it"

In response to that rant, Van Sciver described the former colourist's agenda and what he was going through and said "He had a lot to say, a lot of feelings and a lot of thoughts that wasn't able to share beause he was workign for DC comics. And that's the reality, you cannot come out and be a conservative and criticize the company you work for in this way. You have to be completely supportive of the corporate agenda, whatever it is. You have to keep your negative or critical opinions to yourself, and it's so liberating to be able to not work for DC comics and be able to say exactly what you think. And i think that's what Gabe is going through"

Gabe then posted a further video stating "And i'm sorry i didn't say anything sooner we're going to stand up to these tyrants and we're not going to let them intimidate us there's a lot more of us than there are of them. Conservatives pay their salaries. Who do they think is gonna keep them afloat? Poor woke liberals who are too busy doing nothing and stealing from us, keep dreaming"

Former Sueprman actor and conservative actor Dean Cain also blasted the decision claiming the move to make Superman Gay is an offense to all the real men of America and they will not stand for it

The decision to change the classic motto and sexuality of the superhero sparked mixed reaction after Jon Kent and Lois Lane's son would be coming out as bisexual and began dating a refugee "hacktivist" reporter

The change will come in the November issue of Superman: Son of Kal-El

I also get a kick out of stories like this, does this moron think that him quitting will make DC reverse their stance on the character. That some rando quitting his job because of a fictional characters sexual preference is a big deal to them.

The funniest thing is his claim that only right wingers can support comics, that apparently all liberals are too poor to buy comic books. Guy is a moron and likely should have never been hired at DC in the first place.

Considering that iterations of most show, comic, etc. who turn woke for the sake of pandering to whiners end up in major failures, he's not entirely wrong. The reality is that the same people who are screaming about how great those changes are, tend to not exactly support the product.

That may be true, but it could also work the other way, as well Many who are screaming about how bad it is may also be the people that dont support the product Plus, theres probably plenty of people who are indifferent. Or maybe a bunch are silent, and nobody knows what they are thinking. Or maybe people are waiting to see if the stories are still written well

It's mostly that token diversity alone generally doesn't make stuff interesting enough to attract additional consumers. If Superman is boring with no gay people, it's going to be just as boring with a gay dude. A lot of the blatant pandering just amounts to low-effort attempts to cash in on current trends without making any meaningful improvements to the product, and pretty much everyone can see that and ignores it accordingly.

More diversity is unambiguously a good thing, but that doesn't mean it's going to single-handedly turn around a property whose market share is dwindling. A lack of diversity is rarely the reason for that decline.
