I'm gonna go with Master Chief. It's a big name from a huge franchise, has a ton of potential when it comes to moveset and theme, and Nintendo and Microsoft have a good relationship and I'm sure on MS's end they'd LOVE to have him in.

The biggest hurdle I guess is that he's a Western character, but Halo is still actually pretty popular in Japan. One of the few FPS and Microsoft games that actually made some kind of significant impact over there. So it wouldn't be too much of a "wtf?" character over there.

I don't have any predict, but I hope it's a first/second party character and not a 3rd party one. The reason nintendo games are great is because they make fun characters, the third parties that make it in should be at least on the level of fun monty mole is, and there's literally no third party character left that are.

So my predict is Monty Mole, 100% it's def him and there's 0 chance it's anything else. I hope Sakurai announces monty mole and does a presentation about how it's his game and he can put whoever the hell he wants in.

There is literally no character they can add at this point that will make everyone happy. No matter who it is, a significant portion of the fanbase will bitch about it.

I hope they reveal the character at the very end of the presentation. Not only after the Mii costumes, but have a generic polygon performing the moveset as Sakurai explains them during that too. Then last 30 seconds show us who it is.

I do not want this, because depending on how long the presentation runs I may have to get off before it ends, and I'd rather see the final reveal live.

There is literally no character they can add at this point that will make everyone happy. No matter who it is, a significant portion of the fanbase will bitch about it.

I think that everyone will forget about who their favorite is and who they would love to see in the game to come together and celebrate the fact that so many popular characters all got to appear in this game together. :)

Oh, there was also an article a few weeks ago in which Sakurai himself stated that Ayumi from Famicom Detective Club was considered for Melee, and she kinda lines up with many of the clues (not to mention her game finally being released internationally), but I doubt he'd give away something like that right before her actual reveal.
