Do you do intermittent fasting?

Intermittent Fasting or IF is an eating schedule where you consume all your meals within a specific window, typically 8 hours or less. Meaning you would go 16+ hours between meals (including time asleep).

Some people find they naturally did IF before the 'trend' caught on.

An example of a 16:8 IF schedule would be to eat your first meal at 11:30 am and finish your last meal by 7:30 pm.

IF is possibly associated with positive health outcomes including better body composition, insulin sensitivity, sleep cycle regulation, and mood/cognition improvements.

While IF is often associated with wright loss, you can still maintain (or gain) weight while doing IF so long as your caloric intake is great enough.

I do it without trying. Not everyday, but most. Ive never been big on breakfast and Im just straight up not hungry for the first few hours of the day (typically up by 8:30 and I eat my first meal between 12:30-2). I went to a late breakfast the other day with a friend (11am) and I could only manage a few bites of my oats before my stomach told me to stop. Im more likely to eat after the eight hour mark than before, but my food intake generally is within an 8 hour window (not intentionally, just how my schedule works out). Although the last few weeks probably wouldnt count because Ive been drinking every night until pretty late (beer, so high in calories and thus probz not part of fasting), which is not typically part of my diet.

I generally don't eat breakfasts.

IF I eat a lunch and not just one meal, then I usually eat around 1pm or so, and then again 6 hours later or so (between 6-9 hours later).

Often though if I'm not working (like now), I'll not wake up till 11-1pm, and then I never eat for the first two hours after I wake up. In such cases I'll usually wait till 4pm or so and then just have one big meal, and maybe snack a bit later on.

So I guess I kinda do it, but it's not cause of a diet, it's a way of life (and the fact I don't like most breakfast foods ie eggs).

I was doing two 24 hour fasts a week for a couple months about a year ago. It was fine for me at the time with my diet, but with my current diet (practically vegetarian) I need to eat frequently or Ill fall out.

I'm on and off with it. Some times I'll do 6 hour eating windows, some times I'll do four hour eating windows. Usually two 24-hour fasts a week. But if I break it even once then I usually stumble into really bad place where I just eat whatever, wherever and gain a bunch of weight.

Yeah I've only eaten two meals a day for a long time now. 3 meals is just too much. If I eat breakfast, I'm just not hungry for lunch unless I eat a super late lunch, and then I'm not hungry for dinner.

I could eat a light snack for breakfast I suppose but I just inhale coffee and lunch is all that much more enjoyable later

I physically can't stomach eating food before 11am. I like breakfast foods but I just have no appetite at all in the morning.

I typically eat lunch at 12pm and then again at 6pm for dinner.

No, I don't really want to either. I did a 30-hour fast one time (billed as a '30-hour famine' lmao) as a school sleepover. I got to make out with a girl in the theater. Actually maybe I should go to a fast retreat on second thought.

I tend to do it just from convenience more than any other reason.
Cooking breakfast sucks and I don't like doing it, and I like spending my time cooking lunch/dinner, then eat later at night the leftovers.

Sure. Though, often 16 hours is suggested as a minimum length of fasting. Even if Ramadan overlapped with the summer solstice in his state, it would be just over 14 hours of daylight. If you had your first meal an hour before sunrise and end iftar an hour after sunset, that would be a 16 hour fast. I think it's accurate to say that unless you're at extreme latitudes, you wouldn't get a 16 hour fast during Ramadan unless you're being purposeful about it

Yes because I have a very specific routine. I don't eat early breakfast I drink tea round 6am then eat brunch round 10am. I might not eat again but I always have tea again at 5pm. And I never eat at night (after 6pm) if I do eat a second time.

Well it's actually less work to eat fewer times throughout the day, ignoring any actual or placebo benefits
