What a garbage post. So because black people have an issue white people can't also have an issue? It's also really stupid to act like black people aren't storming the capitol when there were tons of riots after George Floyd.

Fuck yes. If you think losing an election is any where close to the shit that black people have to deal with daily. Yes you can't have an issue. While black people voting rights are being stripped away she is complaining because she lost when her people (Republicans not white people) ad teh got damn advantage with things like the EC. So yes Fuck her and her bitching. And like I said Black people did not storm the Capitol , because we did not.

Both groups have issues and both groups need to be addressed. For the record, minority problems should be higher priority than majority problems at the moment, but you don't need to dismiss either and you can work on both at the same time.

This terrorist issue was that in a fair election her guy lost. Just how should we fix that ?

I only ask for sympathy in so much that she was fooled and you should feel some sympathy for the people Trump fools. You don't need to give them a world of sympathy, but a small sympathetic feeling is more than enough.
I really don't get this argument you keep making.

Why do you consider someone choosing to believe obvious lies that you can very easily fact check, to have been "fooled"?

Seems to me like she willingly kept her head stuck in the ground. I don't blame Trump for fooling her, I blame her for believing him.

He's is trying to exaggerate just like is fake concerns about calling a terrorist, a terrorist.

There were some black people there. But no where near the number of white people. I'd say 200 to 1.

No one was shaming people for calling the brainwashed bin laden followers who caused 9/11 terrorist. Everyone was fully on board with rightfully calling 9/11 a terrorist attack. No same individual in America shamed individuals for calling 9/11 a terrorist act committed by terrorist.

TC is hopping on a soapbox trying to pretend shaming those who call innocent Muslims who had no involvement with 9/11 whatsoever, terrorist, isn't what actually happened.

He's trying to pretend people shamed anyone for calling the 9/11 brainwashed individuals terrorist. Purposely glossing over after 9/11, Muslims in general were perceived as terrorist.

The game here is to try to turn this white lady into a martyr of some kind. A roundabout way to gather sympathy for a terrorist. We should all of a sudden show sympathy towards a terrorist who wanted to overthrow an election despite her not complying with police.

There is quite a bit you aren't getting here.

A lot of these people don't have basic critical thinking skills and/or are surrounded by people with the same belief systems as them.

Getting "fooled" is way easier than you think. People like me and you have a liberal bubble so we don't come across this stuff.

Ever meet someone who was in a cult? I had a close family member who was in a cult and it was tough getting them out. Some people are just vulnerable to this stuff.

This weak ass argument can literally be used on literally any criminal and despicable act. Including 9/11.

People who commit terrible acts, crimes or whatever bad deed are either mentally ill, brainwashed, or forced in some convoluted manner that they rationalize its for the best. Actions have consequences. Now all of a sudden (for obvious reasons yourre dancing around) we should show sympathy for terrorist. Hitler, the 9/11 terrorist, and Charles Manson don't deserve sympathy just because they're fucked in the head through whatever life trauma that warped their minds.

Just so we are on the same page, I very much call, and have always called 9/11 and the culprits, terrorist deserving of no sympathy.

People who are deeply brainwashed suck at fact checking. Honestly, I don't think the average person is all that good at fact checking

You can't just fact check your way out of a cult. Especially when your friends and family members are into it too and call you crazy for denying the cult.

My parents among all my other family members are religious. By using the power of the internet I found out that what they believe in is most likely fake and thus I do not believe in it. I don't deny it to them because that would just be starting a petty argument, but if I can do it, why can't she?

It sounds like Babbitt was surrounded by like minded people so there was no one to push her towards anything else. Just an echo chamber of like minded people, but keep in mind that damn near all of us mostly surround ourselves with an echo chamber.

The issue is people not being well represented by their governments and being deeply distrustful of the election process. This primes them to believe the big lie that the election was fully rigged and that they have the president's approval to storm the capitol.

And yeah as you pointed out, the funny thing is that it is mostly just their own party leaders who are lying to them. Then we get to the problem that being Republican is way more than a political ideology, but is a cultural identity and you can see that it isnt so easy for someone to make the shift.

You need to do something about all these white people that are feeling screwed over. The whole way America works is just stupid. We have two parties and a deep urban and rural divide.

At the end of the day, I don't think anyone is going to fix this country by engaging in culture war BS and taking glee at calling Babbitt a terrorist, but not consistently applying that label to non white persons. No one should be calling someone a terrorist with glee in any situation.

Holy false equivalence Batman. I never said the issues were the same or that white people's problems are losing an election.

Get a grip dude. You always sound like an insane bad faith leftist, because that is exactly what you are.

A lot of BLM members participated in riots. You can't handwave that. Although it is certainly a great deal more justifiable than storming the capitol it isn't exactly a clean thing to do. You have no right to stand from an ivory tower and cast judgment on such a thing. It's getting even worse because now BLM is protesting any and all police killings no matter the details. Minneapolis is just nothing, but constant protests now.

Yeah you're way oversimplifying the issue. I guarantee you believe in a lot more falsehoods than you realize. Fact checking everything is exhausting. No one is immune from any sort of bias or narrow perspective.

Also, a lot of people are just generally stupid and/or were not given a very good education that enabled them to fact check very well. Yes fact checking is a thing you can have varying levels of skill at and it can vary quite a bit by topic.

Her memory is being fucked up because she broke into a Federal building with the goal of confronting sitting members of the Senate. She allied herself with a group of people who showed up with guns, flex ties and a noose, who killed a man breaking into a federal building.

Is that all she is? No. Her family have a more robust picture of who she was over the course of their lifetimes and that's a valid way to view her.

However, her actions on the day she died fly in the face of any decent citizen of a democratic country. She died trying to subvert democracy violently. And that's the context that a majority of people will view her under. And I don't blame them.

Her family is free to mourn, and it's beyond understandable that they would view her reputation in a negative light. But that's a reality they've got to live with. That's a reality they have to reconcile with the woman they know.

Like, if someone starts sending hate mail to the family, that's one thing - that's fucked up, their family member is already dead and you shouldn't harass a family by calling their dead family member a traitorous pile of shit. But by the same measure, no-one should be expected to forget what she died representing.
