Is it fair to ban this ugly statue on high school campus?

18 y/o Frizzy Freak, Tyler Maxwell who was clearly held back a grade, from Florida was BANNED from parking his trailer trash pick up truck on campus after it had a LARGE ELEPHANT STATUE emblazoned with Trump on it!!

He was left "stunned" when officials at Spruce Creek High School revoked his parking pass because of the overt display

He said "I wanted to put the elephant on the back of my truck because it was the first time that i was going to be able to vote. I support President Donald Trump and i wanted to be able to show that to all my classmates. He's the man to run this country and uphold the values of God, Guns, Freedom and puts America First. He dun take no crap from nobody and i like that"

The school said his statue is a violation of board policy 805 that relates political activities on school property and at school events and while some political displays are acceptable, the elephant falls outside such protections

Now he's filing a lawsuit for his rights being violated and said "I felt like my First Amendment rights for expressing how i felt about the president were being suppressed and iw asn't going to just sit there and let them tell me i can't express myself"

Attorney Jacob Huebert has taken up his case and believes they are headed for a victory and said the school doesn't have a right to suppress the student's political expression unless it has real or substantial basis to believe it would disrupt school activities. He said if bumper stickers or political t-shirts are allowed then the statue must stay

The district however said this is different and said "We allow political expression by students in the form of a T-shirt or bumper sticker but large signage is a different situation. A passerby could interpret a large sign in a school parking lot as an endorsement by the district".

However, an Obama appointed judge granted a temporary restraining order meaning he can return with it for now wile the lawsuit is ongoing

He said it's a small victory for now but he awnts this to be PERMANENT and will keep fighting

Do you think this ugly statue should be allowed in a school?

Yeah, displays that agree with their choice in candidate are acceptable. Displays that support the other candidate are "outside such protections".

Permanent? In less than two weeks, promoting Trump is going to become completely pointless because the election will be done. In 8 months, his parking pass will be revoked anyway because he won't be a student anymore (although he doesn't necessarily seem like the brightest bulb in the pond, so maybe there'll be a victory lap or two to consider). Both of these things will happen months before something this low-priority actually makes it into court for a clearer resolution, so he's deluding himself if he thinks anything other than this temporary order is going to affect his ability to display the statue.

His reasons for supporting Trump are meaningless fluff, but so long as his display is clearly on his own truck and understood to be his personal endorsement, it should be allowed.

Yes, it is fair. First off, he has no business bringing that eyesore onto public property. It's offensive to the eyes and will make people go blind. Secondly, it's supporting a racist facist, and that is not freedom of speech, that is hate speech. Third, it's not his property, and they can ban anything they want.

Unfortunately, that is not going to be the case. There are too many dumbass 'Muricans voting for that oompa loompa because he allows them to be all out racist, facist, sexist, and homophobic. As such, Trump is going to win again and by 2024 40% of the country will have died of Covid. The only solace we can have is hoping his entire cult of supporters are among that 40% as they have been out supporting him without wearing masks and not social distancing.

It doesn't matter if Trump wins or loses. Once the election happens, there's no further point in promoting him like this, and there won't be ever again unless he runs again in a subsequent election (which is illegal if he wins and pretty unlikely if he loses).

As for the statue ban, I'm torn on this. While I don't support tRump and it's a pretty harmless endorsement (as opposed to the girl who had the "Homosexuality Is A Sin" shirt banned, I fully understand that being banned for OBVIOUS reasons), schools aren't protected by first amendment rights. Students have their own code they have to abide by irrespective of the Constitution. Their property, their rules.

No, schools have their own rules. I'm pretty sure swearing generally isn't allowed in most schools (though my Psychology teacher in my senior year let us cuss in class EXCEPT the 'F' word, lol) even though that and more is obviously protected by the first amendment. Just like YouTubers are bound by YouTube's ToS regardless of constitutional rights.

Again, it's a tough situation because it's a harmless endorsement, but again, it's their rules.

I doubt that user thinks such things (especially looking at their recent post in which they claim that everything you said here was factually wrong). You, however, seem to be of the mindset that anyone who supports Trump (IOW, half the fucking country) thinks this way. I'd say to look in the mirror and determine where the intolerance is really coming from, but anti-orange hysterics like you typically haven't been able to show a shred of self-awareness ever since Obama won his second term.

That's what you're missing. I really don't care what bureaucrats want. I'm already not a fan of our public school system in general so take that as you will. I don't like my tax dollars being used to fund an institution that tries to impose their will on our children. But that's why you need to really involve yourself in local elections so you can hopefully elect someone who doesn't appoint corrupt bureacrats
