match 1 might be the match in round 4 i feel the strongest about; funnily enough because
1) it doesn't include one of my many noms to have actually made it this far this time
2) it's a basiscape-off, both tracks by basiscape (and Noriyuki Kamikura specifically at that; though partizans is referencing some Sakimoto stuff), and i always talk about how consistently i love basiscape.
But despite that, i really am just uncharacteristically not fond of flotage, especially compared to everything else to have made it this far in the contest; and partizans MAKES ME SO HAPPY : ) I love partizans!!!!!!!!!!

match 2 is easy but if sky tower retires at least i can be happy that pokemon gets its first retiree and that it is a pokemon song that i like and have liked for a long time! but like I have listened to Endeavour maybe more times during this time interval this contest has been going on than any other song in the contest, it's pretty clearly one of my favorites now.

Everything today is excellent! Second match is close... funny thing is that I prefer the main part of Endeavour over the main part of Sky Tower, but it's the OTHER stuff that brings Sky Tower over the top.

As you can tell from the ranks, match 2 is definitely my favorite retirement match that we'll have this whole round! Both very good songs that I would be very happy to see retire. It's a shame we can't have both though.

i am not pleased about either song in match 2 making it this far and i almost want to antivote both of them since i don't want to see either of them as retirees (fortunately in sky tower's case, it's purely on merit of it not being the ideal version, endeavour's failings are ingrained in its very name)

What I probably had:
Sky Tower > Desire Blue Sky (wildcard)

These two are right next to each other in my rankings WHOOAOOAOAAOAOAO. Partizans sounds like frolicking music, which I have to be in the right mood for, but I am in the right mood for it today! Flotage is louder and more intense and I'm not as in the mood for that today as I am its fluffy frolicky opponent. I could easily swap on a different day!

FEEL the POWER in YOUR SOUL > IDOLA The Strange Fruits (wildcard)

I might be in the minority but I very clearly prefer the verses of Endeavour to the chorus. Sky Tower isn't as strong as the original for me but it's still very very good.

I certainly prefer the first match to the second, too bad I can't simply vote for both of those here. Don't really typically care much for Sky Tower but Endeavor is my least favorite song remaining... But also similarly to An Endless Desert, Sky Tower is kind of resonanting with me a bit stronger than usual today. Would still vote either in match 1 over it though.

Surprisingly easy, despite the fact all songs today are pretty darn good. Sadly this it is looking grim for my two picks.... Flotage was one of my favorites this year!
