Mega Man 2: The Power Fighters is a cool game. I was totally amazed in the late 90's when I learned on the internet that there were Mega Man arcade games out there in Japan - getting to finally play them on the Anniversary Collection was a fun experience. They aren't great, but they're pretty good for what they are and I probably would have loved them if I ever saw them in a local arcade.
Neo Turf Masters was an awesome golf game for its day and it really should have made the bracket. Kirby's Block Ball and Donkey Kong Land 2 are deserving snubs. The GB DKC games are pretty awkward and Kirby's Block Ball is one of my lesser fondly remembered Kirby games. Ripper is one of the weirdest FMV games. It has Christopher Walken and Paul Giamatti in it! It was supposed to be a huge deal back in 1996 but it wasn't very good and has been completely lost to time. Probably also a deserving snub but it's notable because it was pretty hyped at the time. I haven't played Panzer Dragon II but I'm surprised it didn't get in. I haven't played Final Doom but I'm not surprised it was passed up. I know nothing about the others. The only major snub I could think of from 1996 is Master of Orion II. A good 4X strategy game, although I think the original Master of Orion is better. Couldn't think of anything else. Aside from Bubsy 3D of course. ... Copied to Clipboard!
