Very frequently the mystery felt very underdeveloped and inadequately explained. Too many statements being flown off here and there and resolving either instantly or coming up much later. I imagine in the VN they keep track of the red and blue statements. I'd probably enjoy the hell out of it tbh. I'm still stuck on Higurashi, the anime of which I very much enjoyed. Now, I get cutting things, especially from Umineko, Umineko is long as shit. But a lot of the stuff that was cut or glossed over was really important stuff, while they kept a lot of things that weren't as important and could have been cut instead. After reading Question Arc of Umineko, it is solvable. That is exactly what the anime adapted, and it isn't possible to solve after watching the anime. It's possible, but doubtful, that someone else (Sentai maybe) got the NA license, but got it so late that they didn't get the English subs done yet. Or the best-case scenario, since the show originally aired on Funimation subbed before the partnership, maybe Funi held onto that specific license and they'll air it subbed as well as the simuldub. Crunchyroll still benefits since they can hype Index 3 being on VRV (through Funimation's side of things) as well. But so far, the part 4 cast seems to be better on average than the part 3 cast. The localization and translation isn't bad per se, but it feels kinda jarring because of how "Japanese" everything looks. That and they didn't do so good with Whisper's dialogue.
