I've only read the first story arc of the VN, which in my favorite arc of Higurashi. And I think it was a great adaption as far as I've read. the main thing I've heard about the higurashi anime in comparison to the VN is that it's not really that bad as a show, but it really shifts the focus as to what parts of the story are presented as important and emphasized and what parts are not. The result is that the show ends up feeling like some gorey slasher horror kinda thing which the VN is definitely not umineko anime is literally only half the story so lol --- THIS IS WHAT I HATE A BOUT EVREY WEBSITE!!
