My first one was Brain Dead 13.

True, you have an unlimited number of lives, but the death scenes are graphic and gory.

Mortal Kombat seems tame by comparison.

Final Fantasy 13. Put like 20 hours into it waiting for it to get better but the better never came. Offended.

Seriously though nothing. Manhunt was probably one of the gorier games I played when I was younger but was never really disturbed enough to quit.

It wasn't the fault of the game, but my spouse got so angry with me because I ignored his "help" when playing Deus Ex: Invisible War that I uninstalled the game. To this day I've still never seen the ending. I've gotten as far as Liberty Island, but that's it.

Undertale, I hate that stupid tem thing. Good game, but tem made me quit the game without even thinking about giving it another chance

Silent Hill 3 and 4, although I did come back and finish both. I was disturbed by Cynthias death scene, i think it was unnecessary tbh.

3? I just didn't like the focus on the cult and the negative slant towards religion in general.

2, Origins and HC have enough psychological elements to keep me hooked, with 2 being one of my top 10 games ever.

GTA Vice City. I'm not a prude about violence in games, but apparently it's best if it's in a fantasy setting... I noticed when I was driving down the street in real life, I was looking at pedestrians and thinking about hitting them. I wasn't comfortable letting that kind of thinking become part of my everyday...

Dead Space 2. It creeped the **** out of me, turned off the game and never touched it again.

I had to put down Corpse Party for a little while after certain parts, but I always picked it back up again.

I put down Final Fantasy XIII because it was shit. Not disturbing or offensive. Just shit. Sold that one back to the store.

When the A.I starts to freak out in MGS2.

It was late at night and I was having no parts of that shit.

The Original Assasins Creed.

Its literally 4 tasks repeated for the entire game. No variety just change of setting.

Im offended that this game was so popular that sequels were allowed to be made.

Yeeeeeeah... that one made me feel REALLY uncomfortable and vulnerable, but I just couldn't stop playing until I finished it despise the nausea and several nights without being able to sleep at all, and the worst part is that I lost my save before getting all endings... I have to play it again someday, once I get enough courage.

But the game that literally taught me THE borderline of what I could and couldn't endure was Chaos;Head. Got the true ending and had absolute zero will to get the rest. I felt so sick at times that I skipped a couple of meals. Guess I'm kind of weak to gore and stuff like that...

The only game that remotely comes close to fitting this category for me is God of War 3.
I utterly despised whiny selfish Kratos as a protagonist (especially when he murders innocent people just to solve a puzzle, like pushing the guy in the cage to be incinerated as he pleads for you to stop in the very first game) and as the series went on, outright didn't want to see him succeed. I still pushed through the first 2 games to the end, but by the time GoW 3 rolled around and you start the game off storming Mount Olympus with the Titans to overthrow the whole pantheon and send the Greek world into chaos and disarray I was just like, "yeah...I'm done, fuck this series and fuck Kratos."

It also helped that since then I had discovered Bayonetta, which has similar gameplay but far better in every way. And whose protagonist, despite consorting w/ devils and using literal "torture attacks," was still likable, unlike Kratos.

No content of a game ever offended me. However games keep making fun of my skill level (or lack thereof) so I get offended by that and have to walk away. We always make up later though.

Did you even get to the necromorph childrenpart? I was impressed that they got away with that level of horror. Luckily I had my six year old watching me play and encouraging me to cut through them.

Some x360 jrpg I dont remember the name of. Had a tactical battle system with pokemon style monster collection. The millionth time it reminded me that x does things was annoying but then I found the God weapon exchange just sitting by the road super early in the game and I'm just done.

I've never quit playing a game because it disturbed me, but the part in The Wolf Among Us where Bigby rips off Gren's arm really knocked me sideways. The brutality of it, and how Gren is just sobbing pitifully in the background afterwards...IDK, it was just intense.

I've never had a game really disturb me, the closest I have to that was a visual novel but I still played through to get an ending, but I never looked at it again. It was drammatical murder and its not really that bad but I'm just really sensitive to non consensual things happening to adorable blue haired characters :(

While I don't like gore and graphic violence, the 'game' that actually caused me to want to stop playing was Depression Quest.

As a real-life sufferer of suicidal depression I can tell you that overcoming it is NOT easy! It's a long and protracted battle with ample twists and failures. You can be well on the road to recovery only to have a few assholes at work ruin weeks, if not months, of progress. Hurdles stand in the way that can be extremely difficult to overcome. Yet DQ seems to act like all the solutions are obvious ones with easy solutions. As if a real-life sufferer can overcome it through such simple choices as 'adopt a cat' or 'socialize at parties'. I understand that this is basically just a real-life story turned into a dumb... thing... but geez I wanted to stop playing after about thirty seconds in and I realized what they were doing. If you want a game than approached depression and the like much better play 'Today I Die' which not only handles the subject better, it's an actual game and far more fun.

Nothing "disturbing", closest was playing Ultima 7 and watching a baby get killed in a satanic ritual. Yea, the game was from the early 90's so it was pixelated, but Jesus H Christ that was bad. Just kind of sat there blankly for a few minutes before I continued playing.

As far as being bad, pretty much any game that is frustrating not due to lack of skill, but because the actual game mechanics work against the player. Best example I can think of is trying to do platforming sections in Leisure Suit Larry Box Office Bust. Randomly fall through the level enough and you will just throw up your hands say "fuck it!" like I did.

I also don't think that that's what the Poll Question is asking for. I mean, there's TONS of bad games people pick up, play, then don't play again due to them being bad. I wouldn't call that OFFENSIVE though.

Worth it, IMO, but the prequel / sequel (Book of Shadows) was even harder to play for the same reasons, just to forewarn you. ... Blood Drive, not so much.

Star Ocean: Till the End of Time

You spend all this time getting invested in these characters and their stories, then somewhere near the end of the game you find out that they're not even real in their own world. They're characters from a video game, IN THE VIDEO GAME. I can't explain why I felt this way, but I was so appalled that I just turned it off right there on the spot and never played it again.
