Sounds like the trigeminal neuralgia episodes my father gets. It can cause extremely severe head and face pain, but not life threatening.

I had the same thing happen to me about 2 years ago, except instead of the pulsing pain of a migraine I normally get I instead had bouts of mild confusion. Everything would just feel off. After about a month a Neurologist properly diagnosed it as acute confusional migraine which is a thing, prescribed me meds and it went away pretty fast once treated. Apparently it arose when a migraine shifts from the area it most frequently has been afflicting you to the other side of the head or something. Hope you find a good neurologist.

I am currently in hospital too (kidney stones for me) - good luck. Not fun times. I'd probably rather my complaint to yours as for me it is mainly no issue, but when it hurts, it hurts bad.

Don't complain about the pain meds is my advice. They have helped me out a lot the last few days.

Night 3 I was given medicine at home that has proven ineffective. So far the only thing that slows this thing down is random spurts of relief (unsure why) and the IV stuff they give me in the ER.

Also it hurts more to close my eyes in the dark than it does to sit at my computer. This is... confusing to me and makes me think this could be psychological but that's confusing, as this past week wasn't stressful to me <.<

No, opposite: it hurts worse when I lay down in the dark. It's really weird.

The cocktail is Benadryl/Reglan/something for inflamation
