Personally I wouldn't be, because that would make us susceptible to an anti-christ figure who would dictate everything and change all laws slowly yet surely.

Absolutely not. Collectivism is something that I see as well intentioned but the results are often cruel.

No, for countless reasons. The most basic issue is fundamental loss of representation, since things would need to increasingly be decided at higher levels of government. And, of course, if you don't like the terrible government in charge, you'll lose the ability to move to a nation with a less onerous government (although, as it stands, most governments are progressively worse)

Much like my stance on Capital Punishment I'm for it in theory, but in practice there's no one I trust enough to implement it properly.

It's a reference to the absurdly authoritarian, corruption-riddled government in One Piece. Many of the local branches have officials either collaborating with pirates or who are being paid to look the other way. In fact, (spoilers for Arlong arc) Luffy's original large bounty came after he drove off an official who had been taking kickbacks from Arlong and wanted to confiscate everything Arlong stole from the village instead of returning it to its rightful owners

In general, the larger and more powerful the bureaucracy, the likely it is to be corrupt.

No, because I hate the melting pot concept when broadly applied. I think national identity and cultural heritage are important and shouldn't be forgotten. It's what makes different people interesting. We'd end up like the neutral planet from Futurama if there was one of everything to abide by.

If it were up to me, North America would be a dozen different countries. Tying people together who can't agree on anything for the sake of preserving an outdated version of itself is stupid and is partly why nothing gets done. We'd all be further ahead if areas that desire self-governance received it and then treaties were written up to outline cooperation. Switzerland is a single entity, but it has a relatively homogenous population with a direct democracy that allows different regions within to write their own rules regarding business hours, official languages, and so on. That is fine when people mostly agree, but when they don't, split apart. Austria-Hungary is a great example of why you shouldn't stay together. So are Yugoslavia and Czechoslovakia that were born of it. The only reason the former Ottoman lands are so awful is because Britain and France forced terrible borders upon the region that left everyone at each other's throats. If they'd be drawn along smarter lines, things would probably be better today.

Most of the misery in the world is the result of people being forced to live with others they don't feel a kinship with. From old tribal issues in the Middle-East and Africa to the various religious and political ideologies that are like oil and water, a segment of the population just can't seem to grasp that competing ideas will just be incompatible sometimes. Neither side is inherently wrong, they just want different things and are forced to compromise begrudgingly for no other reason beyond "these are our borders because they are."

yes and no

yes because its inevitable when you take into account the fact that we will eventually get off this rock to explore our surroundings in our solar system and then galaxy and onwards over the next few millenia if we dont screw it up like always.

and no because we currently are not mature enough as a species to come together in a common cause.

Well, the US almost wound up 2-3 different countries (assuming they didn't reunify later on), and it's possible that new countries might have been incorporated in other places. All that aside, it's infeasible to break up the country now. Hell, it's tough enough to try to break up California into multiple states

You've got to be kidding! Everything wrong with every current government, taken to the next magnitude worse?

If the best and brightest the major political parties could find to represent the US at the last Presidential election were a loudmouth reality TV "star" and the failed Arkansas comedy team of Hil&Billy, imagine the incredible depth of bozos available in the wide world!
