For me, It has to be Sonic The Hedgehog 2006. I hate this game so damn much. The story is pretty shit, especially because of the bestiality stuff. The gameplay is just putrid. All 9 characters controller horribly, and frankly just arent fun to play as. The level design is up there with some of the worst I've played. The ball puzzle. The glitches. Theres more, but I said enough for now.

I know there are some people who love it, but I hate it so.

Honorable mentions- Ride to Hell Retribution (Its fun to play with friends at least)
Drake of The 99 Dragons (Comes very close)
Beyond Two Souls (A very boring and painful movie trying to be a game)
And Superman 64 ( I used to like it when I was young, so I have some memories with it)

What about you?

sacred 3 or unlimited saga

sacred 3 tries to be diablo 3 only instead of adding the good stuff uses all the worst parts without adding the good (doesn't even try to be like the original games)

shame i liked sacred and even though sacred 2 was a buggy mess it was still fun

Dragon Power on NES. I have no idea how I got it as a kid, but it was the drizzling shits.

Fast forward about 10 years and Im in college. A neighbor in the dorms is watching DBZ, which Id never seen before. It would occasionally cut to a shot of Bulma, and Im like Ive seen her before... but where? Later that day, I put 2 & 2 together and realized it was from that shitty game all those years ago.

Prince of Persia Sands of Time. Terrible angles for camera and it was zoomed in and confined too much for combat. Unskippable cutscenes and guitar chugging for music. Got it free on uPlay.

And now to list more disappointing games:

Back to Bed
Mirror
The Plan
Among the Sleep
Streets of Fury EX
You Have to Win the Game
Tri of Friendship and Madness
Rise of the Triad Reboot
Outland
The Legend of Korra
Evilquest

The way Nintendo used deceitful trailer footage to seemingly hint at the things paper mario fans actually wanted particularly pissed me off regarding that game

The game called Life.

Life is a terrible game, like - no one even plays it to win.

Ok, only the money on the Life tiles determines who wins so you want the most Life tiles, but actually getting to the end you have to decide HOW you want to finish. If you try for the Rich ending you have to have the most money or you get nothing, otherwise you get half the remaining life tiles. If you go for the regular ending you just get 2 life tiles.

But here's the problem - even playing 2 players you're likely to use up all the life tiles, about 50%. With 3 players it's almost guaranteed.

Since money is useless since there is no half the pot to split it's just a simple race to the end, which is determined for you anyways.

So the only real strategy is to live fast and die hard so that there's still life tiles in the pool since no one is going to try to split an empty plot and just die poor with your guarnateed extra 2

Yeah it must have been the ps2 one. I bought it cheap and it had alright reviews but the only big idea the developers had was to have way too many characters.

You can learn a lot about how much a person has actually played video games in their life by what they say their worst game of all time is

I'm not trolling when I say Planescape: Torment is among the worst I've played. Never been so incredibly bored playing a game before. Fantastic writing and character development doesn't save the dreadfully slow pace, clunky interface, and perhaps the worst combat system I've ever seen in an rpg. I had to look up why I kept missing everything, and as it turns out, Thac0 is a Titanic-sized flaming shit pile. Perhaps all of aD&D is shit.

Maybe if you play a pacifist run it'd be better simply because you wouldn't have to suffer through the combat, but I wanted to play as a violent asshole that slaughtered everyone. My mistake I guess.

Probably Star Wars: Galaxies immediately after the release of the NGE patch that completely destroyed the game.

Beyond that... I don't know. I've played some of the "legendary bad games", like ET and Shaq Fu and while neither are anywhere close to good, I also didn't find them as bad as expected, maybe because I went in with low expectations. There are plenty of other lacklustre games that have crossed my path, but none of them immediately stick in my mind, maybe because if a game is really bad I usually stop playing it before its impression can really settle in on me.

The only game that immediately surfaces when I think "awful game" is Sonic and the Secret Rings, which - for some reason - I played through start to finish despite it having a terrible soundtrack, an awful plot (even by Sonic standards), and some of the worst controls I've ever had to suffer through.
