I'm not offended by slurs or profanity so naturally that stuff mean little to me. I realized that years ago when I got cussed out.

I guess what stops me from using colorful language in casual conversation is the habit of politeness.

The only time I ever used it was when I wrote a paper about the rhyme schemes in 90s rap, because I had to quote a bunch of rap lyrics and decided against censoring anything. I would never use it other than as a quote in that type of situation, for obvious reasons.

Out loud, very rarely, and only when I'm around my brother and his friends (or when I'm reciting song lyrics or quoting someone). But I think it pretty often, because I use it as a general term like "dude." It knows no race or even gender in my (mental) vocabulary.

I personally believe in the notion that a word only has as much power as people choose to give it. Like the way Lil B set out to change the meaning of "based," I would like it if we could strip all the negative feeling from the word, while of course not forgetting the past. But that still doesn't mean I go throwing the word around, because it's still offensive to a great many people.

One time when I was a kid, and I never heard the word before, I thought up random words that may or may not be real words that I never heard of and the N word was one of them. I don't remember what definition I gave it but I never understood why the N word (that I never heard at the time) was an offensive word during my childhood (I thought it was innocent and harmless to make up random words that I didn't or don't think existed).

However, I am someone (even at the age of 25, which I am right now) who don't like saying bad/forbidden words (swears) even the minor ones except for a few minor ones as long as it is in context with the name of a song/game/special attack/etc. title. But hearing these words (slurs, cusses, swears) don't offend me.

You are a god damn liar if you say you havent said it before. Its literally irresistable to say for 13-15 year old boys at least once. The whole 'forbidden' aspect of the word means that young teens all try it just to see what it feels like to say. There is a reason that 13 year olds on online gaming call you that.

Never mind that is its very very phonetically pleasing word. Couldnt the racists of old have picked a worse word? Like Grolf? Imagine what the N-Word could have meant if we didnt make it a racial slur.

I literally never use any vulgar language whatsoever to the point where my voice simply locks up if I'm reading something out loud that has a swear in it. It's just the way I was raised.

These days I don't think I'm special or smart or anything for doing it, but I keep doing it because it's just a good habit. You just come off as friendlier when you don't use any vulgar language, and someone who has as much trouble making friends as me needs all the help they can get.

Somewhat related, but I'll never "speak The Lord's name in vain" either. Again, not because it matters to me or because I believe a god or anything. It just feels wrong and there's really no reason to do it while there is a logical reason not to; that I would rather just be as friendly as possible.

Not using vulgar language and everything might be a large part of the reason it takes so much to anger me too. Or not. Who knows.

Pretty much same story as me.
Me and my older brother were making up words to call each other and one of the words I said was the N word. We were in front of my parents when I did it and I got in a lot of trouble for it.
These days I still rarely use curse words but usually when I get hurt I'll curse.
I don't say the N word. But I think it is just as bad when a Black person says it as any other race.
Think those who are "more" offended when it comes out of a white persons mouth are just as racist themselves. Still I don't think a white person should want to say it or any other race.. If it happens by accident, it happens by accident but still shouldn't want to say it.

Im not one for using speech generally considered vulgar. I find it lazy. But then, I don't talk very much at all. So when I do use such words, it's for a very specific reason, to get a very specific result. I can't recall ever using that particular word out loud, but I'm sure I have a couple times in my life, and it was probably for the reason stated above.

No, but I admit it is a pretty good swear when you are mad. "Fuck" just kind of lost it's impact when every 8 year old on XBox Live started saying it.
