If the economy remains strong and the Dems roll out another weak candidate, he can easily win again. He's a bigger threat to his own stupid self than the Dems are in a general election.

I thought the last election proved that no matter how hard he tries, Trump cannot actually shoot his own dick off.

I think part of this is the 2012 Republican primaries which was basically Mitt Romney vs a series of front runners who shot themselves in the dick and then Romney got trounced. I think that really helped condition Republicans to want to ignore this stuff in favor of getting a candidate that can win (Trump)

because it was twitter and some of the people who started and pushed ti hard were people i knew and hated already. mostly trolls who wouldn't ever shut the fuck up and would backstab everyone. some of those were people who tried to use gamergate but kept being banned on both 8chan and reddit, rejected pretty much by everyone except ggrevolt (who basically were a group of 40 or so who also eventually admitted to pretty much hating GG anyway and were trying to use it) and a few IRC channels. at this point it's been about... 2 years i think and there's some internal drama where some initial people are bailing quickly. i mean i could get into the politics and subsections more but i don't think there's much point to it, the answer ends up being trolls and people who continued to be rejected from every community they're in.

a not insignificant number are in that 25-35 range and they likely have a diverse population. like yeah most would be pasty white guys but there's a fair number of fat girls, a couple trans girls (at least, they claim to be), and some ethnic minorities. if you want more demographic stuff, basically looking at the worst mix of old goons (somethingawful) and people who crossposted on /b/ and /pol/.

well, the worst i can think of is Sir Wulfington. you can find his ED page if you really want to get into it. but long story short, he wrote a long explanation about how MLP isn't communist enough for his liking, has drawn MLP porn, may be a dog fucker, is somehow too edgy and too much of a tryhard for people who've been trolling for 15+ years (including people at CWC and Kiwifarms while they were around), and still believes himself to be superior. there's more to it but i'd be here for a while. he was one of the guys who latched onto gamergate and threw a fit when he kept getting banned on both reddit and 8chan, after having been banned or disappearing from encyclopedia dramatica's forums. so he went with alt furry and stuck with ggrevolt, probably still one of the like 5 people posting on endchan (yes, they literally made their own chan because 8chan was corrupt or something).

yes, alt furry contains multiple commie bronies who hate capitalism and use nazi memes and are right wing. no this doesn't make sense.

Yeah. AFAIK, Zuckerberg has never said he's exploring a potential run but a lot of things he's been doing in the past few months really suggest he's considering it.

one assumes his pollster will return with numbers that make this all fade away as something we can look back on and laugh at

I just never want someone with no political experience to run for President again. If some celebrity wants to run for Governor, Senator, whatever...I mean, I'll still make fun of the media circus like I imagine many of us did for Arnold, but it's generally okay. We're seeing on a near-daily basis though why you absolutely need some experience before becoming President, and now we're seeing the only people more arrogant than people who think they can be President: people who think they can be President without any past political experience. No thank you. At least finish a term as Mayor somewhere first.

It's really amazing if you think about it how political experience (especially on the federal level) has been turned into a negative (now it means you're a "Washington insider" to a lot of people). I think a lot of it has to do with the popular narrative that politicians are largely corrupt which seems to have been on a crescendo since the 2008 financial collapse.

This narrative has been drummed up both on the right (with the tea party and then Trump) and on the left (notably with Sanders). It's not that there aren't some legitimate points here; there is too much money in politics, and it is a potentially corrupting influence. But at the same time it doesn't mean that all politicians are bought and sold, and it certainly doesn't mean you should decide to roll the dice on someone like Donald fucking Trump instead.

For the most important job in the nation, I think you need years of experience in a related position. You only get up to eight years as President. There is a finite time limit to your job and all on-the- job training is -- while important -- also in need of being minimized to better focus on the rest of your job.

It's already an incredibly huge responsibility for all our past Presidents. It even would have been for Hillary, and she had all sorts of related experience alongside a two-time President for a husband. Donald lacks an intellectual curiousity about how to do his job better which makes the problem even worse, but even if he was fully driven to learn it all well then it's still a far bigger risk to bet on someone to learn well and learn quickly with security, taxes, and foreign leaders than with someone with some related experience and proven motivation already.

On the plus side though, America has learned to always apply for the job of your dreams even if you don't have the resume to back it up.

this has to be one of the best Trump quotes, but also from the fact he did not win New Hampshire

but then you get to this quote
