New bill seeking to severely limit the amount of legal immigration.

Lol protectionist policies. Probably won't make much headway since immigration is an overall boon to the economy, especially on the local level.

Saying dumb little comments like these will be used against him. It makes him sound like he'll do things he thinks are unconstitutional. He would have been better off sticking with the flawed comment or saying nothing at all.

If he said it's unconstitutional, it opens the door to him simply ignoring it and hoping a court will back him up, like how every president has ignored the statute on war powers passed in the 60s, claiming it's unconstitutional.

Stories like this make me wish Trump would just go on vacation and dick around all the time, and stay out of Washington.

http://www.golf.com/tour-news/2017/08/01/president-donald-trump-relationship-golf-more-complicated-now

all report that he doesn't play a round of golf so much as narrate it, his commentary peppered with hyperbole. "Is this not the most beautiful asphalt you've ever seen in your life?" he'll say of an ordinary cart path. At the turn he'll ask, "Have you ever had a better burger?"

Trump always takes a cart and a caddie, whom he pays well. He insists on driving. Recent footage that showed him navigating his cart across a green at his club in Bedminster, N.J., generated horror in the golf press, but this is old news at Trump's clubs, where he has been known to drive onto tee boxes too.

Trump will sometimes respond to a shot he duffed by simply playing a second ball and carrying on as if the first shot never happened. In the parlance of the game, Trump takes floating mulligans, usually more than one during a round. Because of them it is impossible to say what he has actually shot on any given day, according to 18 people who have teed it up with Trump over the last decade, including SI senior writer Michael Bamberger, who has done so nine times. In 2007, Trump called Bamberger to brag about a 68 he had shot at Bel-Air Country Club in Los Angeles.

at 71 is easily the best golfer who has ever lived in the White House.

Btw Ike really enjoyed golfing too which is why he had a putting green installed so he could blow off stress.

Gross gross gross. It was already bad enough when Bannon joined the team and Breitbart was all about Donald. I expect bias in news to some degree, but I don't know how much more obvious it can get than this.

Then again, it might be the sweetest news channel to watch if Donald gets impeached.

Their president - who is probably guilty of accepting bribes and who has a like 7% approval rating was just NOT suspended for the duration of his trial by the legislature controlled by his own party.

He became president because the previous president was impeached for corruption and that president was only president because the PREVIOUS president was impeached for corruption.

Because conventional wisdom is that removing your own party's President is a recipe for electoral disaster. After the GOP forced Nixon to resign they lost a net of 3 Senate seats (in a year when Republicans only had 14 up for re-election) and 48 Representatives.

If the GOP thought they could get rid of Trump without losing his base they'd have already done it.

Basically they all (or at least enough to get to 67 votes...) know that he's crazy and unqualified, but his approval is way higher than theirs among Republican voters. Now at some point Trump might lose half of his base and they might decide to pull the trigger, but the main thing keeping them from crossing Trump at the moment is cowardice.

You think those people are going to vote for Pence/Republicans even if they oust Trump? If they're voting against you either way, there's no benefit to catering to them.

I feel like they're trying to ride it out to the midterms

If the midterms go okay (as in they keep power in both houses even if they lose some seats) then they suck it up and see where the wind is blowing in 2020

If they get creamed in 2018 they might even impeach and remove him during the lame duck period <_<

Or else we'll get to a point where Dems control the House in 2019, GOP wants him impeached, and now DEMOCRATS won't do it because they want them to own their endorsements of him.

FWIW, oddsmakers right now have it at 53% he doesn't even survive this term

But then 30% that he gets re-elected

Only a 17% chance he makes it to the election and loses, lol

EDIT: By "survive" I mean hold office, not literally survive, although chance of death is also factored in.
