Like okay. I don't care about any other result from this show.

But I just wanted to see Joe be an actual full time monster and win. I'm tired of absentee monster champion Brock. It does nothing for me. And this match was "okay". Nothing more than that.

Like you can't give Joe a little bit more? You just can't? You really can't make it something competitive? Make it an actual match instead of a snail's pace bullshit fest? Joe's the only guy I actually cared to see beat Brock since they have absolutely botched Finn Balor to the point where it's like... does it matter?

It's back to Roman beating Brock, and who honestly gives a shit? They've been trying to make it happen for years now. Think about that. For YEARS they've been trying to make us care about Roman beating Brock. I just can't give a shit. I couldn't give a shit then, and I certainly couldn't now.

I'm just deflated at this, because it was just so underwhelming.

I see no reason not to be happy with Joe's performance. He dominated Brock. The finish was underwhelming but Joe's no-sell afterwards worked pretty damn well for me.

Like the match itself could have been better with a little more time, but it was structured in a way that worked pretty well (although weird because it clearly made Brock the face).

Cause you know Reigns/Lesnar is gonna be the opposite, where Reigns just gets his ass kicked, overcomes in the end and finally slays Lesnar.

But considering Joe was literally not on the main roster at the beginning of the year and now he's been booked to go toe-to-toe with Brock Lesnar? I'd be damn happy with that.

Probably because Joe was soundly finished and didn't seem like he stood any kind of a chance, even after sneak attacking and throwing him through a table. And any offense Joe got after that is easily forgotten when the slow, plodding German Suplexes last for 80% of the match.

This debate you're having can only be answered by how WWE follows up with Joe

I actually thought the Joe Brock match was the sole decent part of the show. Joe just winning would've been better, and I thought the finish was kinda abrupt in a bad way, but it was exciting despite the finish being kinda eh.

They aren't exactly working with a lot of optimism though.

Consider all accounts they're very happy with Joe and that's why he was booked the way he was booked, I actually think he's gonna be a top act going forward no problem.

Keep in mind the WWE fed Randy Orton to Lesnar and made him look awful, and they rewarded him with a Royal Rumble win and a title win at WM! They made Goldberg punk out Lesnar and gave him a World Title, too. Something tells me that looking good against Lesnar is probably a good sign for Joe's future.

Yeah. I'm being uncharacteristically optimistic and assuming they'll run with that. It would be the logical thing to do given the match and Joe's no selling of the F5 after the 3 and the announcers.

Didn't watch the match?

Yes, Joe looked better than Orton, which is a pretty low bar. But Joe was physically dominating at times and a dirty cheater at others so he looked pretty legit. And while he went down to one F5, Joe was up and staring down Lesnar as he walked down the ramp.

I don't see how it's a fluke win if Brock just stands up and hits his finisher on Joe after almost being choked out and doesn't sell it.

And frankly, if it wasn't 80% of the match, it certainly felt like it. I remember Joe running up and hitting his kicks at the start of the match, hitting a low blow, and taking a ton of germans before putting on a choke hold that is promptly shown to not actually put Brock out.

And while Jakyl is right about how WWE follows up with Joe, I feel it necessary to remind everyone that while TimJab was throwing a tantrum over us going "Yeah, this is going to end up being a disappointing stop gap where Brock looks dominant over Joe to build up Roman vs Brock" and that's exactly what happened. I have zero faith in anything RAW-related. Because every time I think something is going to disappoint, WWE proves me right. Feels bad man.

What you keep saying happened literally did not happen. Hell, Joe had the Clutch alone locked in more than Brock had Germans. Counting the rest of the offense (and I really think you should count the before the bell beatdown but let's be technical for your sake) it was in Joe's favor.

My only real problem besides the one F5 thing was Brock literally grabbing the ropes and the ref not breaking the hold.

Like it was so dumb that a basic wrestling concept had to be dropped for the sake of the match when they could have, I dunno, position themselves in the middle of the ring to avoid rope breaks?

Like he wasn't crawling his way up the ramp but he definitely didn't look like a guy who just tossed Joe to the side.
