Plot twist: Ulti hit legend.

JK, it was me on his account.

After weeks of fucking around with super Control Priest, Freeze Mage, Quest Rogue and Big Druid (Because what else would you play if you had all the cards) I played a generic Pirate Warrior and did it. Now Ulti will (maybe) not complain so much about standard ladder? Maybe?

Hey two of those wins were me! 100% done complaining. Like I said, I only care about the card back and I prefer arena anyway.

What VI is not saying is he didn't do this for free and is very much enjoying a bunch of new games on Steam. Thanks bro, I love you man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The two you still need are Trails in the Sky 3 and... Oro perfect edition something?

It looks like you had a bunch of fun with my collection, and you're definitely trustworthy. Do I have more cards than you or no? I know you had to craft a Living Mana, but did you need to get anything else?

Your play style is incredible, but I feel like you played very fast decks. No knock on you, just a knock on the way people have to climb up. You hit 5 within a week and stalled for the month until today, which actually discourages people from playing slower decks. Why bother when you can snap concede and just go 3-2 in the time it takes a control deck to go 2-1? That needs fixing, but I wouldn't know how outside of reducing the turn timer.

I'm not remotely good enough to hit legend, and given I have no free time now I was never going to get there. So I bought the card back and a good buddy of mine gets steam games. Sue me.

I've gotten you League skins so shaddap.

I legitimately do not understand why pirate warrior is a good deck. I quite literally have an 80% win rate against it.

https://www.reddit.com/r/hearthstone/comments/6je2ue/i_am_100_confident_that_there_is_now_an_arena/

Blizzard changed arena math without telling anyone, so draft Oozes if you see them. Not to mention Blizzard announcing a change in legendary pack math with the next set, then doing a sale immediately afterwards without the new pack math instead of just including it immediately.

I think at this point Blizzard is allergic to telling people the truth about their games. The player base clearly wants this to be competitive, so the parent company should treat it competitively and not include balance changes to a game mode without telling anyone. It's kind of silly how often Blizzard lies to people.

Because War Axe and First Mate are the best openers in the game IMO (Not counting something like coin innervate Barnes into Y'Shaarj or a 10/10 Van Cleef)

Super late on this, but the "half your deck is another class" brawl was one of the best wins I've ever gotten.

I chose Warrior as my 2nd class because hooray for weapon classes, but with presented with Explore Un'Goro, I had to do it. For the memes.

Then I discovered original Elise. I had to do it again. For double the memes.

I won the game after replacing my deck twice. It was glorious. I wish I were a streamer...

Hype?

LEGENDARY CHANGES
Some exciting changes are coming to the card pack-opening experience with Hearthstone's next expansion!

Every time you open a Legendary in a card pack, it will be a Legendary card from the same set that you don't already own.

In addition, you will never open more copies of any card in a pack than you can use in a single deck.

You will also be guaranteed a Legendary within your first 10 packs of a set. Things are about to get even more exciting in the Tavern, so pull up a chair—we'll see you there!

Does this really change how frequently you draft oozes, though? They're already curve cards, so you generally want them anyway. The only real changes are paladin and hunter, since rogue weapons aren't great, and warrior is subpar as a whole even with this change.

Yeah, I have no problem with saying that Blizzard has really poor communication about anything Arena related, or that it's really significant that Paladin gets even better, just wondering if the micro of "draft more oozes" is really necessary.

Is it really? It's not like you're going to be weaponed down in arena, normally. Yeah, Win Axe is usually a 2-for-1, as are many weapons, but in a lot of ways weapons behave like spells. They're clearly not minions, in a minion-based format. So why wouldn't they get the same bonus as spells?

Don't play much Arena but I don't know how much it changes it because I'd imagine drafting a bunch of Truesilvers to be really clunky and Hunter doesn't have any common weapons

It's more of a consistency thing - you're much more likely to be offered a Truesilver now, and Rallying Blade is a really strong 3 for paladin. Hunter gets Eaglehorn Bow, and since the 7.1 arena patch, commons and rates show up at about the same rates.

Shaman being able to draft Jade Claws/Stormforged Axe more often is probably more significant though.

I admit I have an abrasive personality (I really am getting help this time), but I generally know what I'm talking about. Caverns was 100% unacceptable and now Blizzard themselves agreed when seeing how swingy it was. It got crushed by hyper aggro, but itself crushed all the slow decks. You can't have something defining a meta that sharply.

Caverns wasn't OP, it was just extremely polarizing like you say (Although That wasn't what you said at the time). That nerf basically makes it unplayable though.

That's also a stealth nerf to aggro decks too as there will now be a lot more decks that check them seeing play

I didn't see Ulti's old comments (this alt is new so I see it here) but I have to agree with what's presented here. Caverns Below is absolute shit for the meta. It's almost singularly the reason why I dislike Ungoro more than Gadgetzan and haven't been motivated to explore any design space. You basically have two kinds of decks -- decks that slaughter quest rogue and decks that are run over by quest rogue.

I've played less since Ungoro's release, and when I have, I generally concede against quest rogue on turn 1. To put that in perspective for you, I never concede any game even when the result is a foregone conclusion, and fight things out to the bitter end. Quest rogue is simply that much not worth the effort involved. Unless, of course, I'm playing an aggressive deck that feasts on QR, but usually I'm not.

If Caverns Below becomes unplayable, that's regrettable, because that means we only have one viable quest deck now, and a couple others that might be fringe. In other words, questing is a failed mechanic, or at least the extreme options presented in Un'goro are, anyhow. But that doesn't matter. What matters is that QR is so incredibly polarizing that even with allegedly sub-50% win rates, it's poison. I haven't been this bothered by a deck, and I've lived through all the old classics like undertaker hunter, secret paladin, pirate warrior, etc. For once, my response is to raze it to the ground and dance on its grave.

It's a shame, too, because I earmarked the card pre-release as potentially a really fun card to play with, and opened one on release. I was well-positioned to be happily playing quest rogue, until it turned into what the deck eventually became.

edit: as a sidenote, I just cleaned out my ignore list.

I've been playing since open beta and I'm still missing about 100 cards from the core set alone. According to the collection manager, to complete my collection, I'd need 291,600 dust to craft 555 more cards. Add, pretty much, another 0 to that dust cost if you like golden cards.

Don't worry about not having all of the cards, just get enough to play a few decks you enjoy and fuck everything else. Odds are you'll ragequit or get tired of the game sooner rather than later, so fat lot of good a complete collection will do you at that point.
