Yeah the 'punishment' scene is no where near as painful as it was in P4G. If anything it might even be more enjoyable than just going with one because its kind of funny.

I've been waiting so fucking long for the payoff to the god damn pancake scene. I am glad the characters noticed, not so glad it took them around 70 hours of playtime and half an in-game year for them to do anything about it. Biggest foreshadowing, also potentially most easily preventable plot twist. <_<

Does telling Sae about your accomplices/Confidants actually do anything? It seemed like I was supposed to do it by the characters telling me to remember my contacts, but Joker wondered if it was really the right choice when I tried to so I backed out. And I didn't get a bad ending so.....I guess it's fine?

Also I used the STR 10 reward to make my boy Siegfried, and got him with Auto-Matarukaja. That skill is so incredible for random battles and I destroy them now. Once I get some more cash I can upgrade him a tier with a treasure demon too so I'll be even more powerful.

Ryuji suggested taking out Akechi immediately, but the rest of the group knew it wouldn't improve their situation and might have made it worse, since if Akechi was defeated, Shido probably would have stopped at nothing to kill them. Fooling Akechi was their only choice, as it lulls him and Shido into complacency and gives them a window to strike.

One thing I've been wondering

Dizzying is gone right?

That really sucks, it added a lot to the elemental system.... you could either go for an all-out, or dizzy the next opponent (though I guess the major emphasis on all-outs in this game is the reason they removed it)

Yep. Futaba's Confidant Link is crazy good. I'll look into other ones later, but she's gonna battle Yosuke and Sojiro for 3rd I think. Depends how they finish.

That was easily the worst writing in the game imo.

If that's the worst than that's ok because at the very least it was over quickly and they didn't drag the situation out like I thought they might

Beat Palace 6.

Aftermath of Palace 6 Spoilers *Major Spoilers*:

I still don't really know what to think of the explanation for what happened. I actually think it's hurt a bit by the overexplanation that follows, but maybe that's more a presentation issue than content? There definitely feels like there was a ton of redundancy involved there, especially regarding Akechi being the traitor. I think they hammer it home like 3 times or something... and that's before they explain it AGAIN at Leblanc the next day.

I also think the overexplanation is just partially on the game. Last thing I did before stopping (because omg cutscenes) was talk with Futaba for her added details/explanations and like man the whole thing about "cognitive Akechi" was just something the game never needed to bring up. Like hypothetically I understand that *is* something that could have happened so I buy that Makoto realizes it (and it's kind of heartwarming that she apparently does and calls an emergency meeting to deal with it) but the explanation doesn't work for me. Futaba says they had a window of a few minutes where Sae is talking with Akechi but the Nav hasn't activated? ...But the Nav is clearly activated like the moment they meet and there's no indication that it's on a timer or delay. I only just buy that Sae and Akechi were out-of-range to drag Joker in with them thus ruining the entire plan simply because that aspect of how the Nav works is left pretty vague. Where here the explanation raises more questions than answers IMO.

Gonna be disappointed if Akechi doesn't realize Joker is alive ASAP though. A full team meeting at Leblanc with Sae? way to blow a cover immediately. And even if Akechi was the sole observer of the team and took the day off... can't imagine they do a better job covering this up in the future!

But on the positive side, Sae the best. why can't she join. akechi's slot is open. Sae the total MVP of 11/20 and 11/21. Makoto second MVP (also totally capable of running the team if Joker had died, IMO, so Akechi was wrong tbqh)

velvet room full of jerks too tbqh. they knew joker's memories were scrambled and were like "good luck champ" and they were totally capable of fixing them since they do the moment he makes the "right" choice. way to help guys.

Bad ending where you tell Sae who the team was pretty dark. Probably darker than P4G Accomplice Ending

Got through more Confidant videos today. Basically finishing things I hadn't seen, or going after Romance options I wussed out on before.

Kawakami v. Takemi - Those were #1/#2 for pretty obvious reasons. The sheer audacity of Kawakami's puts hers at #1.
Yusuke - If this stayed as comical idiocy, I might have dropped it down despite how good it was. Thankfully, it got serious again when it needed it.
Sojiro - Part of my wonders if my ranking is more based on Jamieson Price being a great VA, Sojiro as a character being a bro, or his arc being based with Futaba, but his is really high.
Haru - Nice pleasant story. Nothing bad, nothing good, but memorable for just working as an extension of things. I haven't ranked anything yet, but this is kinda the borderline of good/memorable v. meh. Not saying she's #6...just a certain spot until I confirm things.

Ok. I've gone through the Confidants, and I've got a solid ranking here. I won't spend too long on the specifics, but there are some notable situations. I'm also ranking the story based ones too.

Kawakami (I mean, seriously. Anyone who doesn't put this here is lying to themselves)
Takemi (Oof...so hard putting this at #2. I kind of didn't want to, but Kawakami is just...oh god)
Yusuke (A perfect blend of comedy and serious ending to encapsulate Yusuke's character)
Futaba (So much gamer nerd coolness, but ties into Sojiro well enough to stay serious)
Sojiro (Sojiro is the man. I don't like the pairing as much as Dojima/Nanako, but they are strong)
Iwai (a bit Sojiro-lite, but with some cool subplots. Rank 9 is what made this link)
Morgana (Stupid Ryuji. Morgana is great. He's way better than Teddie)
Sae (I'm cheating a bit, tying in all her Makoto and post 11/20 stuff too, but she is a great character)
Makoto (A dropoff given she's the best character, but still a pretty good link, showcasing her attitude)
Yoshida (Powerful skills, and a lot of political intrigue. I wish I'd focused on this more)
Chihaya (I really liked her. The romance didn't feel awkward, and subplots were interesting)
Haru (Pleasant girl, pleasant story arc. Like before, the cutoff of where the good ones end)
Ann (Shiho this, Shiho that. C'mon. Give me more model spats. Those were fun)
Ohya (Not bad. Ties into the story a tiny bit, which helps)
Caroline/Justine (Better than Margaret, but same setup. Nothing special)
Ryuji (Meh)
Hifumi (Good story with her mother, but no real depth)
Igor (No different from usual Igor scenes; only a link to lock abilities)
Akechi (Didn't care about this guy or his story)
Mishima (Nope...nope...don't like this guy at all. He's lucky he's not last)
Shinya (I wanted to like this despite some reservations, but the story and the Rank 10 were just barf)

Well yeah but the game never pretends he isn't a dorky loser, so it works. I actually liked him.


On a related note, this game is potentially the greatest JRPG ever made and its script contains the words "kek" and "shitposting."

It's a masterpiece.

Reached the Beginning of Palace 6.

The last couple of in game days leading up to it really took there time though, that is, between the conclusion of the October midterms to the the Palace start, that was almost 2 hours of story with really no control over much else, other than a few free nights scattered in between.

It will be good to be back to the normal gameplay though!

[Also, exploring a Palace in swimsuits commences, since that DLC has dropped today.]

Fuuka is great and by far my favorite navigator between 3-5. 2nd is Teddie then Morgana even though he doesn't really sort of count.

I never say this but haru is OBJECTIVELY the worst character in P5 - no room for debate (and I don't think she's bad!)

I don't see how she's worse than Akechi or Futaba

Having Mitsuru and Naoto so low really makes me question your judgment of character. Especially if Makoto is so high, given Mitsuru is her x1000.

Does anyone want to execute him, or should I?
