barst is thankfully easy to get his 5 LV 35 kills because brave axe is so good, he's pulling that off on mages + dance like 8 levels below.

i procrastinated and just started getting around to some of that stuff a few days ago. the chapter 11 lunatic quests were kinda tough. 11-3 looked like a nightmare at first but i beat it second try pretty easily just going full fliers. 11-5 i had to use a light's blessing.

Barst i just did today. left him with a steel axe because his atk is so pathetic. with brave he wouldn't have even been able to damage some armors. doubled and just barely killed quite a few things that way too, so i don't think brave would have helped much if at all.

Huh, looks like Reinhardt finally got to 500 HM. But both of them seem to share it(and I'm not using my 4*)?

Yeah HM is tied to the unit and shares between all of copies of em.

Yeah I need to work on the seal quests. I have Barst and Hana in the low to mid 20s currently. Leveling them hasn't convinced me that they're worth investing in. Especially Barst with his nonexistent res. I've been slacking on the storyline quests so I doubt I"ll get the lunatic quests done in time(I haven't even completed 10 in normal yet)

Actually starting to pay attention to the arena. Apparently I'm rank 8 in my current tier(Tier 5). I was up to 6 a few days ago but I figured if I'm that high up I don't really need to work at it anymore. So I'm probably going to just intentionally surrender to people to give them arena defense wins.

Hrm... what exactly determines your "placement" in the arena anyway? Just your 7/7 score? Just want to make sure I'm not tanking my score for when I get up to the more serious arena tiers.

Lyn as a staff user lol, and she's the only one with good art or interesting skills. but not interesting enough, really. probably gonna pass on this one.

hey now, cordelia's extremely interesting too. double rally skill for +3 attack and +3 speed makes her potentially match Eirika with a different C skill. if she attacks, she still gives a +2 def and +2 res. if you've got her on a team with Nino/Tharja/someone who stole Odin's, she's pretty amazing.

I have a Nino so pretty much any one of them would be fantastic for her.

Also of note... 2 blues 2 colorless. Not sure how I feel about that. I won't have any chance of getting Hector if I pull for the brides, but then again what were my chances anyway? >_>

And honestly I kind of need more of both, even if I don't get the brides another spare Shanna/Niles to sacrifice is what I need for a few characters.

so finally did a bunch of inheritance today. got Linde almost fully kitted with blarblade+, moonbow, desperation. still not enough SP for fury (don't have many Hinatas, either). also i finally got Hector to level 40. gave him the typical bonfire, vantage, swap (since i haven't drawn a single cherche). barely had enough SP to learn spur atk 1, which will have to do for his C slot for now. Eirika i just gave reposition and moonbow to for now, leaving her A and B slot empty.

that setup it made the arena much easier. there was just that one godawful map with defense tiles in the middle surrounded by mountains that is impossible to come out of without a casualty. other than that it went really smooth. helps that a 4* no-SI Subaki can actually do something.

oh, and i just recently found out that bonus unit effects defense now, so this will be my first 900 feather defense week <_<

guess i now have three 5* archers. all with unique purposes too! Faye is a super rare niche that prevents counter attacks, Cordelia is a buffer, and Klein is death.

Well, this banner made me do into my 120 orbs. Very powerful abilities.

80 orbs later I got a +speed Cordelia and a feed Cordelia.

Wanted the no counter healer bad, but Rally Attack/Speed is a good consolation prize. Possibly should have stopped pulling after the first Cordelia, but it feels wrong feeding off your only copy of a 5* only

Cordelia as a unit is better than that ability, especially a +spd one. you probably wouldn't even leave that as her ability.

that's no whale, that's a hacker. all those skills and 2k SP leftover? there's absolutely no reason for a legit player to have that extra 2k SP the same day the unit came out. the only reason is if you simply hack everyone to around 4k SP by default (4096 in hex is 1000). and that looks like around 2000 SP worth of skills learned...

oh, and the biggest red flag i just noticed. 158 HM. i think it's literally impossible to farm 4000 SP while getting that little HM.

Technically fusing +10 would give 1200 SP. And if they're a super duper whale they could fuse even more copies for more SP (or train skills on the fused copies to feed into the main one for SP efficiency)

Well, gratuitous use of shards and crystals can get you quite a lot of SP for the fusions as well.

I mean it could be hacking but it's possible to do that legitimately too, technically.

In other news, the Kozaki Yusuke maps are fantastic. Not just for Hero Merit farming, but for plain ol FP farming. My Nino will get Desperation 3 in no time!

After dealing with a souped up Linde with vantage....


I'm considering giving Nino Threaten Speed. She can reasonable take a hit from her(Early on, before Fury gets used up too much). Only issue is I'm not quite sure how much that will help her with other threats. There's not much she can't double(42 speed with Fury 3) so what else would this help her kill? And I don't think this Linde was even optimal in terms of skills so what happens when I run into Darting Blow Linde? >_> I suppose this is why I bring Reinhart with her. Well, one reason.


Also first time encountering Vantage Hector. Holy shit I'm glad I have Roy, bad ivs or not.

I'm only in Tier 8 right now. I'm stating to see a lot more dancers around too(And not that many are Olivia). So maybe I'm just starting to get up in the ranks that have that sort of thing as the norm?

And yeah, you are basically forced to run at least one decent, bulky sword user (or Roy), because it's the easiest way to deal with Vantage Hector, who is everywhere in Arena. You can't really run a Red Tome instead, because they won't be able to OHKO him and he'll get two shots in with Armads, and if you attack him first, he'll just Vantage them to death.

I have a Ryoma with Swordbreaker, so I like to use him against both red and green units, but if Vantage Hector is afoot, I absolutely have to save Ryoma so he's 100% for their fight at the end.

if the attacker has 5 more spd than Hector, they will get their second hit in before the second armads hit. so Tharja and Celica can kill him (and Sanaki will one-shot him with triangle adept).

plus there's always desperation. my whole team right now other than my bonus unit can kill Hector just fine (Eirika, Hector, Linde).

I have a fair amount sword users, but I think Zephiel is the only truly tanky one. The rest are...

Cain: Threaten Attack would make Hector easier to tank. I've heard that Cain doesn't do that much in terms of damage however...

Navaree: Seems squishy, and I'd need to invest 20k feathers to give him a better sword(Or sac Cain...)

Lloyd: Even squishier, at least on the physical side. 20k feathers to get him his Regal Blade.

Chrom: Seems nice for taking on physical units(Another 20k investment tho) He's +Att - HP

Corrin: I think I need a bunch of skills to really make use of him though...


So yeah, Roy at the moment is my only real choice. Everything else would either require leveling them up or dropping feathers. I'm fine with either, it's just not something I can have ready right away.

Chrom with brave sword is the strongest sword user in the game, so you could really use him, give him Cain's brave sword, slap attack boosts on (especially deathblow if possible), and he'll start destroying everything he attacks first.

Ended up fusing my Cordelias. Wasting the ability is rough but putting a few extra stats on by far my best unit seemed worth it. Got a +Speed from the fusion which is nice.

ORKOing Hector means my arena teams are finally covered. He was always the bane of my existence.

Fair point about the red tomes. My sole 5* red tome is a +Atk Lilina, who is a bit slower, but casts an absolute nuke. So when I pre-empt Hector with her, she does like 52 damage, but then dies to double retaliation.

yeah, i think it's possible for her to one-shot him with a +atk boon and her default +3 atk skill, but she also needs an atk buff and even then a +res boon or +HP boon or +HP seal would all save him.

HA, exactly the same as mine. But I mentioned in the Discord, +Spd gives her (with her A skill) 41 Spd when it activates. Which is tied with the non-LaD highest max spd.

there are several characters that can have more than 41 with spd boon and fury. hell, Lon'qu has 42 with just one of the two.

Actually yeah let's walk through this again...

Turn one. Nino walks up to the forest. Roy Shoves her into the forest. Ninian goes between Nino and Roy and dances for Roy and moves to Ninian's right, one step outside of the range. Reinhardt moves up to Ninian's left.

Turn two. Nino kills Camus. In normal mode she oneshots him, in Lunatic she gets counter attacked but lives to finish him off in that round. Ninian walks into the forest and dances for Nino. Roy walks up to her right, Nino gets behind Roy and uses Draw Back. End turn. Cavs buff up, healer attacks Roy.

Turn three. Nino drags back Roy, Ninian moves to Roy's left. End turn. Enemy buffs up, healer attacks Ninian, Roy gets attacked by axe.

Turn four. Nino kills axe , Reinhardt attacks axe, Roy finishes off axe. Ninian dances for Reinhardt, Reinhardt kills red tome user. End turn. Healer attacks Reinahrdt.

Turn five. Kill healer. GG.



And honestly I think I did it a slightly faster way the first time. I wasn't really paying attention.(Roy doesn't nearly die in this method)

Admittedly having a Reinhardt makes things much easier, not sure how easily he can be replaced. Where as Roy can likely be replaced with "Triangle Adept sword user", and Nino with "Fast enough Green tome user".

I showed weakness and made some draws on the bride thing. I just wanted to make a single draw, then I got a 3 Colorless 2 Blue set so I couldn't help but 5 draw it. Then it came up empty, so I used my remaining 40 orbs cashing out on my elevated 5* chance. I did cash out (with a 5* Klein-- which I actually like as it saves me 20000 Feathers to give a Brave Bow+ to Setsuna to make quadattack murderkiller) but I'm out of orbs again now.

I really want to give the Bridal Banner one more try. It's been pretty good to me(2 Lyns, 1 Charlotte), but I'll have to see how many free orbs I get first. Not getting baited into opening up my wallet.... again(Damn you Hero Fest).
