People loved Jet Force Gemini. Who knew?
Today's game, despite the inclusion of one of the series' greatest characters in Zak Gramarye, is widely regarded as the worst in the series, to the members of this board anyway. What will that mean in terms of ratings though?

I liked it, though it wasn't perfect, especially coming off of T&T. It did a lot of things right, but certain aspects felt rushed and failed to deliver, and it also clumsily handled some of Phoenix's character arc (which was mostly a good idea tbh). It is, at least, a lot better than JFA and a really good game. The bad stuff doesn't make the good stuff unimportant.

What a weird game to rate. From a pure game stand-point, it's probably about a 7. But essentially, it's a glorified visual novel, and judging it by VN storyline standards, it's more like a 2.
Ruining Phoenix isn't even that high up on my list of reasons the game isn't good. Having three absolutely nonsensical cases out of four total is #1. Really, anything after that is just icing on the s***cake.
Weakest AA game by quite a ways, on virtually every front. Gets off to a decent start with its decent cast and what at first seems a smooth transition to a new main character, and then... some really terrible writing decisions. The bridge between the trilogy and this game is ultimately terrible. But even as a standalone, it has TWO of the stupidest cases in the series' history to cap the game off.
That said I don't regret playing it, and I do like enough things about it (in the usual PW way) to give it an average score.

A fair game; I enjoyed it slightly more than most, but it seems to be mostly forgettable, really. The introductory case could very well be my favorite intro in the series, but there was too much hand-holding. Also, the bracelet gimmick is a joke.

3. I couldn't even get to Phoenix's supposed butchery, stopped somewhere in 4-3. The cases in this game make the opening cases of the second game look good.

Though Zak, Kristoph, and Phoenix were great, the other characters, whether major or minor, were largely uninteresting and didn't help what was an above-average story that was more apparent during the investigation phases. However, the game still retained the quality writing and courtroom excitement that the previous games had.

For an AA game it had some serious flaws; I'm not really a fan of the look for the twitch mechanic, which is a dumb visual puzzle and not deduction, for example. But..there is nothing quite like the feeling of starting to crack the case. Even in a weaker entry, I just freaking love the Ace Attorney series. I want more so bad.
