I may have been mistaken, actually. It was the tv show called Mike and Molly about a heavy couple. The lead actress lost 45lbs and then the show was canceled. The articles don't exactly make it seem that it was specifically because of her weight loss, but the timing was suspicious.

It was most likely cancelled because it was a shitty show. Her weight loss would have been a slight factor at most, not the reason.

It only bothers me in a few instances. Particularly when I have to sit next to them for long periods of time, especially when I was in school and the fat kids would breathe really hard in a quiet room.

Now I hate it when I have to work with them because of my physical job. These fat new hires (bless them for trying) stink up the place something awful even when wearing anti-perspirant. Just the sheer amount of body sweat.


As far as getting that feeling of intense discomfort from merely seeing fat people, that only happens when I see ungodly morbidly obese people who clearly have difficulty just existing. It makes me question how these people could have taken it this far. If you have trouble walking, you are at the absolute breaking point and need to make a change.

Reading things (or just focusing on close objects for long periods of time) contributes to and expediates degradation of eyesight. Most people can get by without corrective lenses anyway, especially if they've never had them so they're used to their poor vision. The main reason people get them is for reading things from a distance (classroom boards, road signs, etc). As odd as it sounds, it probably wasn't as important back then to have perfect vision.

There's also the fact that people didn't always live long enough for it to get so bad as to be debilitating.
