You can see it in a lot of libertarian posters here like Mal_Fet and Coffeebeanz.

Guys, if there's no government we're just gonna get stepped on by corporations.

What does this have to do with anti-intellectualism?

If you are going to attack a group of people for being "anti-intellectual" at least have a coherent thought when doing so.

There are certainly a portion of libertarians who are anti-government and think we'll be better if we had 0 government.

And those are called anarchists.

If you believe in zero government you are objectively not a libertarian. That's anarchy

I don't get it, all these hippy freeloaders have attached themselves to the libertarian party but it's a party that promotes bootstraps. I'm guessing because libertarians generally hate the IRS and wish to eliminate it, that's all some of these dumbasses hear and latch on.

except, you know, I am a libertarian and have spent a lot of time speaking with and about the politics and the philosophy of the movement

basically no one who is actually libertarian in a serious way would exclude ancaps from the label. they might make a distinction between themselves and ancaps, but to say they don't count as libertarians is just something that doesn't happen. The LP even has an anarchist caucus. *shrug*

They're more extreme than the typical run of the mill American libertarian, I'd say. There's some overlap, though.

The alt-right are an extremist wing of conservatives. Ancaps are an extremist wing of libertarians.

I wouldn't say the alt-right are good conersvatives nor would I say ancaps are good libertarians, but they are part of those respective ideologies.

The alt right aren t extremist, they're mainstream.
