Sony and Microsoft just released half generation updates to their consoles. I highly doubt that they'd do they and then drop a new console generation within two years of doing so. My money is on late 2020/early 2021 at the earliest for PS5/Xbox whatever.

I'd say we've reached the halfway point. Last gen was 8 years, and new upgrades have been released about 3.5 to 4 years in. I expect it to last 3 to 4 more years.

Microsoft literally haven't even launched its Gen 8 elite console yet. I find it hard to believe they're just a year away from the next gen.
