Charon was also quoted during the Vivi one when charon said it was 16 seconds yellow could have saved and not had Vivi eliminated. It's never done in a mean-spirited way, it's just silly antics for Edward. I thought that was pretty clear myself.

And I mean, I didn't comment on that one because I didn't really take any offense to it.

I absolutely was quoting Charon there, and in the comic that sparked the Marche subplot which I like a lot. But my intent wasn't "look at this dumb guy saying stupid things", it was just to reference things people say in the topic or else it's just 100 extremely boring comics of Edward stabbing people. But just because it wasn't intended to be an insult doesn't mean it can't hurt someone's feelings. My sense of humour can be kind of sharp

I'm not going to pretend I'm not sensitive to these things, but at the same time I'm still going to believe I have my reasons for feeling that way. Still, if you didn't mean it that way then I believe you.

No, I'm saying that what was in the comic is a parody of something I said in one of these topics very recently, and I think the content was definitely inspired by what I said about the "they" bit, because to my knowledge I'm the only one that said anything remotely similar. The characters wouldn't even have had to be mentioned.

I've not had happy experiences with those types of interactions in this contest, and I think anyone having played a long time can tell you that. I've had people dedicate their contest wins to me, and I've had people claim (albeit in a misinformed manner) that I was the only reason they were voting (for Marche). I don't take things like this well, because in the confines of this contest, they have rarely ever meant me anything but malice. If that wasn't truly your intention, then I apologize for taking it the wrong way.

It doesn't have anything to do with any character. That quote is inspired from something I said a few rounds ago now, about the whole "they control who wins". I mean it's clear mockery at this point, but hey if that's your thing go for it. Isn't the first or last time people have used me in this contest to push whatever agenda they're interested in. I just tire of it. I've already left Discord, and really, if I ever found another online hangout I'd probably just leave entirely.

The facts don't really back up your points. Seymour is admittedly just not a typical choice for "who is your favorite FF villain". I mean you realize that up until a few years ago, there was no more dominant force in this contest than a villain (Kuja), right? I appreciate you trying to make sense of Seymour's struggles, but the real answer is that he simply isn't very popular and until a couple of years ago, he lacked a second dedicated saver to prop him up with me. Seymour isn't particularly "hated" on this board I think, he just is definitely not popular either. To do well he has to outlast people so he can gain votes from people who just like him in a general way, and thanks to guff that's now possible. With just me, it never was because I couldn't keep him alive long enough to pick up support from people who might would give it, because they'd all have their favorites still in.

Barret and Seymour are pretty similar in that I think a couple of really good years have made people forget they come from a long line of either underwhelming or mediocre performances. I mean I don't want to make this a contest of "woe is me" or anything, but how many people that have played this for a long, long time took as long as I did to see your fave make the top 20 and treat it like it was the promised land.

I mean, some people are so spoiled in this they get bummed out if all they get is top 20 and no top 5 or whatever (0 of those for me).

I kinda meant like a "fun" side project that you are a little less attached to because it isn't quite at the level of your legitimate favorite character. Fun wasn't really being used in that way there. I mean for example I have a lot more fun seeing Seymour actually do well than say, if he were replaced by Wakka in this situation or something. I would consider Wakka a "fun little thing" for me though because I'd probably be making WhiteWakka images and going "Wakka is coming", but it wouldn't be quite as serious of a thing if he failed (obviously).

And I'd again just like to stress this is not some project, or fun little thing or whatever. Most of you have probably seen your legitimate favorite do well so many times or even win that you've just moved on to whatever else now. That isn't the case for me.

Hey now, do you realize it took me like a decade or more to even see my legit favorite character even make the top 20? Let's not pretend Seymour's upswing in the last couple of years is an established norm among all those always-do-wells you listed out there. This is still only the third time he's been in the top 20 in all contest appearances.
