He never asked a question until you brought up the fact you found the win to be 'tainted', so yeah no, you still brought it up. raytan/amy/partystar literally cheated for years so those results are definitely suspect. Wins like Tidus, Marche, Steiner, Lightning or whatever might been on the backs of things but it was never anything comparable to just one or two people making a bunch of accounts and voting with them, let alone them being the hosts of the contest to give them even more advantage.

I'm sorry characters you like won during that timeframe. Not accusing you of being a cheater or anything, you just like characters that the people who spent years unfairly running a contest also are fans of. It's not like I am saying strike every contest pre-Marche from the books, just that a legitimate form of cheating was going on back then. The fact you had to try and compare stuff like Inviso's voting to that is still in my opinion, a bad look.

I mean, I didn't bring this up unwarranted; that was you. You bring up the topic and then go "let's not talk about it people get salty"; pretty weird. If you didn't want it talked about all you had to do was not try to make something out of it. People using their popularity or "buying" votes is, in my view, part of this game. Not one I always like but I'm not going to basically refer to them as cheaters like raytan and his sister. There's a difference between getting mad/jealous and just going with "this win wasn't legit".

I mean I don't know how he feels about Kefka and Tidus in terms of who he actually prefers as a character, I'm just repeating what he said. He had not been voting for either character up until Inviso switched his votes and later claimed he was only voting for Kefka to counteract Inviso.

Also, there's nothing "dirty" about asking someone to change their votes. I mean I could ask you right now to vote for Seymour and there's nothing in the rules saying I can't do that. Rallying is bringing in outside forces that wouldn't be participating in order to strengthen your character unnaturally. Inviso is one of the longest tenured players and yes, we have been friends for a long time now so sure, I asked if perhaps he'd consider helping me out (keep in mind, Tidus is my #2 overall and unless something miraculous happens is my best chance to have a 'winner' in this) this one time, or just perhaps abstaining since it wasn't as if he was a Kefka fan. People support stuff in SMFFFC that their friends like and have done that for a long time now.

I dunno, it's not a good look to compare this to outright alt voting and cheating. It shouldn't be mentioned in the same breath. Nothing "tainted" took place here, and as Genny said FFD claimed he voted for Kefka only to counteract Inviso's Tidus votes so technically this gained Kefka more votes if you believe FFD would have abstained (he wouldn't have though).

That said, I mean I am sort of miffed just a bit but I was saving Tidus because I like him and not in some hope that the few Tidus voters were going to decide to help out with Seymour. Can't really expect people to operate that way, even if it's what I personally would do just because I like both as 1 and 2.

Not sure if you even pay attention tbh. None of the Tidus savers said they were going to move on to Seymour (there were really only two main ones, he was getting by on tons of casual support). The Aerith elim was more helpful than this one. Late rounds like this are always bad on Seymour anyway with a couple of people who support him living in Europe. At some point, a late round will be the death of him probably.

I agree! I wasn't expecting that to be my first nom out honestly. I think a part of the fear aspect to Alan is that his game is basically a creation of his mind, which is a pretty dark and scary place imo.

I must say, the journey to finally have my #1 as the final character standing from his game sure was a long one. Every year he's made a decent run, someone else has always had a better one. From Tidus winning the contest, to Rikku barely outlasting him and making the top 5 to last year's Auron redemption run, Seymour was always just a step behind. It's a cool thing to see really, though obviously Tidus is my #2 overall so it wasn't as if I'm glad he went out here, especially since he could have went up in the stats with just a little more surviving. Unfortunately we didn't get the alert here today and missed substantial time, costing us hour 3 so there was no way to help out.

No worries, I figure he's going out tomorrow anyway I just don't want to leave any stone unturned! And hey, he almost went out at 21st so I should be pretty happy with 13th. Especially with this Seymour push that is going on.

I know you weren't around for it, but during Tidus's winning year the brigade that put him there carried Seymour along far beyond his expiration date that year, all the way to an 8th place finish. Tidus was usually safe so fast that a lot of his voters just gave Seymour a vote; hugs for Seymour were offered.

Happy to help sort of return that favor this year when I'm able to. This is probably the first time since I've played the contest where I'm in the position to say I can do that from time to time, it's a little strange!

I think I voted in the earliest contests but I didn't start "playing" until Contest V (first year Tidus did very well, easy to tell when I started I think). I have played every single year since then though, and every year my actual favorite has been in the field!

Alan is sort of the lovable jackass, character wise. As the protagonist I'm certain you'll grow to love him despite his obvious shortcomings as a human being. He's a flawed character in that way (much like James Sunderland, for example). The best survival horror leads are always sort of dicks or immoral characters.

This will always be the issue with Seymour, and those of you who believe he can make a fabled run into the finals for some reason. His rankings on these lists is kinda proof that he's going to be hard pressed to pick up support no matter who goes out. At some point, you need a pretty sizable amount of people to care enough to trade for you to make it that far. The burnout for Seymour has been pretty similar the 3 times he's made it far before this. I'm glad Chris is here to help and all, but if you really have paid attention... this is not Sir Chris, contest mastermind, that's voting for Seymour. It's just Chris, a regular user. I kinda get tired of reading commentary about how decided it is that he's top 5, or especially some lock for the finals. Without people who don't like him deciding to save him for some ulterior reason, he's never making a run like that.
