You're right that is true but in which case it sure is a pretty lame prophecy. Imagine being Yoda and being like 900 years old. You watch as shit's all cool in the galaxy for centuries upon centuries. There slowly starts to be a disturbance in the force. But then the prophecy shows up saying some kid is the super special chosen one who will do amazing things to right the wrongs in the force. Then it turns out the amazing thing is that things were just slightly ok for a handful of years. Before they got super super bad again. And someone else REALLY brought balance to the force. When talking about balance, it can only take one little push to completely topple everything. If Anakin was prophesied to be the chosen one it could mean he was the little push at just the right moment of imbalance to turn things back to the right side and set off a cascade of other important people to bring true balance. In the long run, prophecies are notoriously untrustworthy and also George Lucas definitely did not put anywhere near as much thought into his story as internet nerds have since. The old rationale was that Anakin brought balance to the force as the prophecy foretold by defeating Sidious at the end of VI. But now that Palpatine somehow returned a little bit later, and had a collection of clones and sith followers secretly building super death star destroyers on the super secret sith planet making him more powerful than ever before, it kinda feels like the prophecy was just bs.Who says balance is permanent? There was balance presumably for centuries before the prequel series, then it was disrupted by the Rise of Sheev. I havent seen it so cant say. Apparently the studio felt it was too much like a Shane Black movie and reshot and cut out vast swaths of it to make it better.The original version definitely would have still made some people upset but it was at least something different, instead of soft remaking the original like the other movies. I don't remember all the details but it's basically mercenaries teaming up with Predators to fight other Predators. The studio came in when it was mostly finished and absolutely eviscerated it in the editing room and forced reshoots to make it into a completely different movie. The final product is a barely comprehensible Frankenstein movie. That said, I still think it's pretty decent. Some solid action and kills and fun characters with snappy Shane Black dialogue. It is so clearly marked, with indicators farther down the road, yellow warnings all over it and if you're driving any kind of big truck you should know your clearance. If you've driven one for any period of time you should be able to eyeball any low clearance. You have to be paying zero attention to hit this thing.

Not my cup of tea and tbh except for Jeff Goldlum's The Fly, neither are any other cronenberg movies. The father or the son. They both have that weird subdued tone that refuses to spike and just sort of ends. This. I've seen a few of David's biggest movies and they're all borderline Italian in how nonsensical and boring they are. Junior's movies are at least a bit prettier but are exactly the same.
