A wise person once posted an overused quote once that said, "It's about the journey, not the destination."

It's definitely true because no one remembers who won SMDC 3 years ago, but everyone remembers my brutal betrayal of Pokewars. The fun parts are never the results.

The main reason it was overrated was that its legacy is so negative and it essentially dilutes the pride in which its participants can take for it.

I don't know how you can say that, it accomplished both goals it has. Rydia and Steiner won a contest. How could I overrate it? Genuinely curious!

Took like 30 people to get wins. I got 4th and 5th place in contests with pictures and a sob story respectively.

Which Super Smash Bros. character should be rated tomorrow?

Welcome to the most must-see recurring thread on Board 8. I'm scarletspeed7, and this is Rate the Character. I'll pick a category, you pick a character, and every day we'll rate one character. You are the raters, they are the characters, you rate the characters. Boom.

Yesterday, Scarecrow took the top of the list with an 8.591.

All ratings are on scale of 1-10. You may rate any previous characters you have yet to rate at any point; please post them in the thread. View your ratings here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1P47gZ8N7QcS-ShXYjvteOnd_aCJbv3AcJdipiUChhAg/edit?usp=sharing

Today's character is the fan-favorite protagonist of the ASOIAF and GoT franchise, Tyrion Lannister.

Sure.

When I was 10, I saw the original cast of Broadway's BatB perform at the Kennedy Center. It was quite a great show... but then Be Our Guest started. It was the most riveting musical performance I've ever seen. It was like seeing the actual Music Man in real life dressed as a candlestick; he exuded this magical charisma, unlike any show I've been to before or since. I remember quite vividly how the audience stood after the number and applauded for 5 minutes. Five straight minutes. Every time Belle stepped forward to say her line, the crowd applauded even louder. Everything about Lumiere's performance was intoxicating. Ever since that show, I've been a fan of musicals and Disney films in particular. It spurred on my passion for everything in this entire contest. For me, Lumiere, has defined the concept of the show-stealer, the pinnacle of performance, the essence of the greatest Disney moments.

Jinder isn't growing into the role because there is no role to grow into. In an age of Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones and peak television, we're pointing to that 1991 throwback character and pretending that it's keeping WWE in line with modern television? At least Cena has nuance. At least Owens has variety. At least Laurel Van Ness is such a trainwreck that it becomes awesome.
