Keep in mind they had ceased to pump gas into the pipeline months ago to try and pressure EU into not supporting Ukraine. If it's pumping gas now, it means they explicitly turned the gas back on after the damage.

3 of 4 pipes are damaged beyond repair, it is unknown if the fourth is safe to use.

That has no bearing on my point that the damaged pipeline segments could be repaired/replaced before the war is even over if work started in the near future. People need to stop acting like this was against Russia's interests. It's explicitly in line with their goals.

Again, they can simply shut the valve off. If anything it helps that they had the bargaining chip even if they didn't want to use it.

There's no way this is Russia cuz they get hurt the most of anyone.

The pipeline, even turned off, contained 1,200 km of pipe filled with natural gas that could potentially have been siphoned on the European end in order to fill up reserves should they run out of gas during the winter. A few small holes that can be repaired in a few months seems more than worth the benefit of pushing EU further into an energy crisis at the most critical point of the war where Ukraine needs the most support.

Plus Russia was the one that turned it off and blamed it on sanctions in the first place, when the actual manufacturers said that the needed maintenance was simple and wouldn't have been impacted by sanctions. So the whole argument that Russia isn't comfortable turning off their money maker is complete bullshit given that they were the ones that have had it off this whole time.

Boo, decaying skills is shit game design. Even Final Fantasy II dropped that in every re-release.

They eventually added the ability to "lock" a skill to keep it from decaying, but since there was no such thing as a skill reset in the game, the only way to "change class" on a character is to unlock a skill you want to give up so your new skill can siphon points from the one you want to lower.

And to be clear, the decay here was like 0.1 out of 100.0 total points lowering like once a week.

Ultima Online still has my favorite skill system: You get a global skillpoint cap of like 700 points and can level any skill at any time just by using it. Each skill gets harder to master up to a maximum of 100 and if you don't use a skill the level decays over time. So if you want to be pure melee go nuts. Want to splash in some magic? You get to decide who melee skill you suck at. Want to give up maxxing any one skill to have more skills at a reasonably high level? Cool.

It's total freedom of choice.

It's entirely possible Bowser's skin is swordproof given that Mario usually beats him by tossing him into literal lava or giant bombs and he always comes back for more.

Kind of shocked that STALKER 2 isn't on the list, given they're a Ukrainian studio who flat out said they may have to cancel the game if Russia invades and there's been basically no word from them since.

Medical provision for Russian combat troops in Ukraine is probably getting worse, according to the latest briefing by the UK Ministry of Defence.

Some newly mobilised soldiers have even been ordered to source their own first aid supplies, and have been advised that female sanitary products are a cost-effective solution.

That's about as good as anyone could expect from a sequel like this.

A US army major doctor and her wife, a civilian doctor, have been charged with a plot to leak information to the Russian government.

Jamie Lee Henry and Anna Gabrielian are accused of planning to share confidential information about patients at a military hospital.

The pair allegedly told an undercover FBI agent that they were motivated by patriotism for Russia.

The pair were charged with conspiracy and the disclosure of identifiable health information, in an indictment filed in a court in Baltimore, Maryland which was unsealed on Thursday after their arrest.

Prosecutors said the couple wanted to help the Russian government "gain insights into the medical conditions of individuals associated with the US government and military".

It just doesn't make any sense to me for Russia or any European country to do it simply because if they didn't want the pipeline to be functional, they could have just shut off the valves themselves. And again, it really does hurt both regions. Absolutely no benefit whatsever.

Like, this is major infrastructure that will lead to massive amounts of financial losses for both parties, its not as simple as bombing a freeway or an empty building.

It makes sense if Russia is really committing to total war and is no longer expecting normalized business relations in a year or two.

The BBC reported that Russia had removed their subs docked in Crimea about 10 days ago. Russia "claims" they were moving them to a different port but the timing is kind of suspicious since I imagine 8 or 9 days is a reasonable amount of time for a Russian sub to get from the black sea to the baltic sea.

I don't really see any obvious motives for any country to blow these up. NS 2 was never operational, and NS 1 has been shut down for a couple weeks already because of "technical problems," so Russia was already utilizing the "Remove the sanctions and we can 'fix' the glitch and gas will flow again" strategy. Causing major damage to the pipeline so now they definitely can't be brought on again anytime soon just seems to remove Russia's leverage.

Also I don't see why any NATO country or Ukraine would do this either, gas hasn't been flowing through them for weeks, you would think they would just keep ignoring Russia instead of blowing it up. And of course the idea that the US did this because Biden said "Nord 2 will be stopped one way or another" at the beginning of the year is absurd.

The best I can figure, the Nord 1 pipes were still full of gas, so Russia has every reason to punch holes in them to drain them in case the EU decided to siphon up the rest for winter reserves. Keep in mind Russia has spent months now literally just burning off spare gas because it's easier for them to do so rather than reduce production:

You have to remember that Islam was a wartime religion. As Muhammad was gathering followers and conquering Nations he tended to have revelations from God that just happened to line up nicely with what was necessary for his next conquest. So it's less that people started following him because he was a prophet and more that people started following him because he was conquering Nations and after the fact decided to buy in to this idea that he was somehow uniquely blessed by god.

They have no way to generate power, and they can't bring the plant back online. I have no idea how they fix something like that without significant outside help.
