He could have been saying as much being misled by his family members. Unfortunately, Jirard might have been treated as the fall guy. Might have been too good for the evil of this world.
He'd definitely be guilty of covering things up at best. From the call, he definitely was aware of it. Worst case, the whole thing was an attempted scam by all of them, best case family members fucked things up and he is guilty of inaction and covering it up.

With that, seems more like incompetence than malice, but they'll also have to answer the questions of the other supposed funds and why they were advertising partners who didn't get money. At this point, I feel like the most charitable view would be that the family members fucked things up somewhere along the way and he procrastinated on doing anything about it.

I'd say the only way this totally blows up more is if the money is actually gone, and he's fully complicit in it. I'd say best case scenario is just gross incompetence. The next best scenario is that one or both of the family members embezzled some or all of it, and he's just been stupidly holding off on doing anything because he's trapped in a situation where he'll need to make them face consequences. Worst case scenario is that he personally was involved and there's no way out for him.

Place your bets on how long he'll be in jail for and how long it'll take until his Youtube career permanently tanks.
Unless it turns out to be some insane shit like all the money was blown on drugs or some kind of insane conspiracy, I can't imagine much coming out of it other than a sizable subscriber loss. Though every single day without a statement is making it seem more and more likely that it's something sketchy rather than idiocy.

I'm really interested to see what the response will be. I feel like unless there is incredible mismanagement that the channel must bring in a pretty good chunk of money, so I can't imagine stealing it was ever the motive. I do wonder if the other family members in charge of the charity organization might have fucked things up somehow, accidentally or maliciously to try to steal the money, and that's put him in a situation where there's no good outcome for him. You can obviously never know someone who might just be putting on an act on the internet, but he certainly never seemed like someone who'd have malicious intentions at least.

I guess to make him slightly more like the "honorable mafia" nonsense trope? I'm not the biggest Spider-Man fan, but seems like a weird characterization. Maybe if he had the guy just shot in the head right there by one of his goons or something, but feels off doing it himself as if he's just some random street thug.

The major problem is SEO and the fact that the corpse will still be left behind. If Fandom actually had any respect for the creators and nuked the old site/put it into read only at their request, things would be more viable. They could even restart it after a certain amount of time, but they need that money to keep coming in.

Curious if the site makes much profit. Outside of the newer game boards, the boards are basically just a relic, so they cannot generate much revenue. So it's really down to whether or not people are still using the FAQs and if people are bothering to write new ones. I feel like Fandom integration would be too much of a pain in the ass code-wise, and the FAQ belonging to the writers means they can't just suck the soul out of them.
