The new avatar looks weird, the red background is too in your face, and the background decorations are a bit too large. Otherwise, more of the same, so that's good at least.

Don't really like the "glasses" everyone wears. I guess it's to give their eyes a clear boundary as to how far they can look in a certain direction, but it still just looks odd. Especially since the overwhelming majority of game protagonists don't wear glasses. I think it would look better if the little connecting line in the middle was removed, giving them regular expressive eyes. Even then, I always had a preference for dot eyes. They work well for cartoony characters and make them more endearing.
