Many of my black and Mexican friends from a background where one would expect to hear it, used it in conversation. Can't say I gave hearing it a second thought. I'm white and it's not part of my lexicon, but if I'm quoting somebody, like a racist saying racist things where the slur is part of the substance of what he or she said, I'm going to quote them accurately regardless of what language they use. Luckily we have regulations that keep even the president from making so people can be treated differently under the law because of their religion. Of course somehow these fundamental rights took until this week to apply to the LGBTQ community, and lord knows efforts are still made to treat people differently when it comes to immigration, refugees, and asylum seekers.
