Okay I forgot that part. I just misremembered it as Pearls getting the details from visiting Morgan. That's actually pretty funny it could have been that easy.

To be clear, when I say "pass", I mean "believing the character wouldn't see this as a big enough issue to change the plan to something less... deeply flawed." Not like blame for how it ended up playing out.

Misty staying quiet because she felt she didn't deserve to have Maya know her (one of the worst parental tropes because it gives no regard to the feelings of the child you're neglecting) is really dumb.

What's even worse to me is that assuming Misty's plan went off without a hitch, Morgan would have simply had Pearls summon Dahlia again. Even if Morgan dies Pearls very likely still keeps trying on her own. Pearls had to be made to understand the full weight of what was going on one way or another. It's hard to even give Godot a complete pass from that angle. Even with his issues he still operates very logically in most situations.

Minus 0.1 for the entire case being completely preventable by both the victim and the semi-unwilling perpetrator. Moreso the victim though. Godot being a broken man who took his only opportunity for revenge at a cost he knew but couldn't process in the moment is actually pretty compelling.

In the first state after a very recent momentum swing. Inferring that the election was already definitively out of reach for him is just not true.

Personally I'd put Midir, Kalameet, and Sinh well above the others. Maybe Sinh above Kalameet.

Nameless King is an all time great but the dragon phase itself is merely fine. Good enough even to not make me hate fighting him repeatedly, but he can really just waste your time even by dragon standards. Plastic Sacks is like clearly better than all the other ER dragons but is much better spectacle than substance.

It literally can't not do that unless it were also a flashback case. But also, and take it from someone who started playing 3-2 before JFA on accident, they keep the circumstances of that case extremely vague. Like I don't want to downplay 2-4 but it's not like it shatters the setting or anything.

The difference is there are specific aldehyde chemicals you do or do not taste in cilantro that is also used in making soap. It's not just down to personal taste.

To some extent every case that isn't an intro has "develop the prosecutor" for relevance. This game just does the best job with that.

Nah 3-2 is very much the same in that regard. That was the trade-off of having 3-1 be relevant.

I like that against all odds Kudo is one of the very few witnesses that actually doesn't lie.

Tigre is hilarious and I actually like the subversion to making you choose a lot of your presses in this case. Also I don't find Armstrong as bad as a lot of people and I can't really explain why. Viola and the old man (forget his name) aren't bad either.

3-2 - 7/10 - Conversely, Luke and the DeLites never really stuck with me the way I know they do with some, particularly Luke. Also everything Para said in the actual topic was pretty spot on.

I was confused by which game was second and actually played this and a tiny bit of 3-2 until it became clear there were multiple characters I was supposed to know. (Funny enough, I didn't remember Adrian's name and did not recognize her as the same character through the entirety of 2-4 so I was effectively still unspoiled.)

I did not mind replaying this case. God Phoenix sucks so much here though.

I was baffled at first when it seemed like they were doing a finale mystery that had nothing to do with any main characters. And technically that's exactly what it is! But really that was a great decision because it'd be ridiculous to do what 2-4 does while we're defending Franziska or something like that.

I don't know what you specifically hate about the spiritual summoning you think even could be fixed, but the anime really changes nothing about the concept.

Gi in original plot was just, "They attacked, your dad fought them off and was Medusa'd in the process. Also they stick around undead now for no reason."

The most classic Metroid screen is a long hallway that you run through mashing X as you kill a ton of bugs, and later you get speed boost to do it even faster

It's a fundamentally different gameplay to Castlevania though since it's all about keeping your momentum and not stopping to attack

As someone who played this after T&T (the Wii version had it as actual paid DLC), I find it baffling how badly this fits in with the Edgeworth plot line in JFA. "He left without a word, leaving only a note behind. Or not I guess lol." Phoenix's anger about it goes from justified albeit way over the top without this case to bafflingly petty with it.

Aside from that, this is nearly as bad as pacing issues get for me. Like even future cases that are actually much longer, the only one that felt worse to me is E1-5. And the new mechanics do not translate away from the DS, if they were ever good there. The surveillance footage in particular was atrocious, and that one wasn't really even a DS thing AFAIK.

But yeah the core case is solid.

My favorite part of DL-6 is that Gregory Edgeworth's ghost lied and said Yanni Yogi shot him because he believed his son did it.

(Another wild thing about 1-4 is the whole "accidental murder is still murder" angle on that one)

Tbf that's just von Karma's interpretation. In reality, unless Gregory actually passed out at the very moment Miles fired the shot, he has every reason to assume Yanni shot him. Now maybe intentionally he left out that Miles did fire the gun first, but even that is uncertain.

Except Cyberpunk was so broken on console it was pulled from the PS Store entirely. The Steam version of both games were never that bad despite short memories and hand wringing.

It's hard to sum it up better than this. He's just enjoyable in a way hundreds of other similar concepts for a jerk antagonist simply aren't and really don't even try to be.

Having finished Infinite Wealth, the NG+ thing is pretty terrible just because there's one achievement that's deliberately unfeasible without it. And two jobs being carved out as launch DLC is also annoying. Great game though.

Oh you don't need NG+. You get more than enough XP naturally doing the Big Swell. WAIT A MINUTE!
