They didn't reveal official sales. It was over 5 millions in august. Steamspy estimates 20 millions. Personally I would not be that surprised since the game got good word to mouth

Let's be honest. Yakuza is getting more and more mainstream appeal. I am not even sure you can call it niche anymore. Infinite wealth and the remake of persona 3 will sell well. There's probably a lot of kids that will get into rpg because smrpg is a good "baby's first rpg" game.

Sea of stars was pretty successful too

Depends on what type of turn based you're talking about. BG3 is turn based but it differs greatly from the traditional Final Fantasy combat of four guys standing in a row taking turns whacking each other. Likewise that differs from the style of combat in the original fallouts and even games like Pathfinder Wrath of the Righteous.

While I don't mind the old school FF style of combat I think games like BG3 and the DoS series are the future of turn based combat.

They are already implementing more freedom of movement in the next Yakuza turn based game. Not sure if BG3 had an influence, but I think it look great.

People outside the US have said USians for a while. Not sure how it seems new to anybody

You can see the difference between USian rpg and EuroRpg due to the colors usually being more vibrants while still keeping a darkser side.

Also music composers actually making music for their games like BG3 or the witcher 3 instead of bland enviornmental noises

Not to mention, despite the fact that they tend to have dark moments, they tend to allow more silly moments than the "serious all the time" USIanRpg have. Take the cats in BG3 for examples or Geralt's bros like Dandelion in the Witcher or the cats in BG3

I personally find dog exhausting even if they are nice animals.

Also there's too much variation in "people"
I prefer people I like over dogs, but I'd choose dogs over a lot of people
