Oh no, haven't been documenting.

Day before yesterday's tea: no longer remember. Pretty sure 1 pint of Keemun black tea, and another pint of something.

Yesterday's tea: 1 pint of Ceylon black tea, 1 pint of masala chai.

Today's tea: 2 pint of yunnan black tea

I don't have a good gauge on those brands because I don't buy grocery store teas.

Today's tea: 1 pint of Chinese black tea blend. Was running low on time this morning. Turns out with 3 min. brew time and lower brewing temp, it makes a very nice medium body, which is way more reflective of its good qualities than brewing it more stronger.

Most of my tea is from Harney and Sons, which I buy online. I don't really buy tea from the grocery stores because there's no loose leaf. (bagged tea typically has tea ground into a dust, which can adversely affect the taste). I don't really have a gauge on what's good of the supercheap stuff that you can find almost anywhere. I like Taylor's of Harrogate's english breakfast.

Harney and Son's most popular stuff is their flavored stuff, since they're catering to a popular market, but they also sell a wide base of renown teas at reasonable prices. I mostly drink plain black tea.

Today's tea: 2 pints of Yunnan black tea.

I don't particularly like flavored teas. I find the taste of tea is too masked by the flavors.

Today's tea so far: 1 pint of Assam black tea. Finally finished a tea from my cabinet. I might pick up some more once I cut down more of my other stock.

late yesterday night's tea: 1 pint of chamomile.

today's tea so far: 1 pint of keemun black tea.

Anecdotal that chamomile makes you sleepy, but it doesn't do it for me. But I've noticed a pattern that on night's I've chamomile'd, I feel especially good after sleeping in. Might be coincidence, but I'll see if this pattern continues.

Today's tea so far: 1 pint of yunnan black tea. That was really interesting. I didn't have time to drink it until it cooled down quite a bit. Almost every sip, I noticed different flavors, and they were all really fleeting. Definitely reordering this tea at some point, but I keep ordering new tea which slows down my consumption of tea I already have.

Anyways, April totals:

Black teas:
3 Ceylon
2 Yixing
3 Rwandan
8 Chinese black tea blend
1 Nilgiri
12 Masala chai
2 Charleston
10 Yunnan
4 Tanzanian
6 Keemun
1 Assam
1 Yorkshire gold

Other teas:
2 Longjing green tea
2 Generic green tea
3 dahongpao oolong
5 Camomile
1 Rooibos

66 pints of tea, averaging 2.2 pints a day.

Tonight's tea: 1 pint of chinese black tea blend. Is life just so arbitrary? The past few days of tea has been less than ideal. It's been good, but not very good. There's always something more to be desired, some quality of to the tea that I wanted to be better. And every subsequent pint I brew, was unable to capture the quality I desire. And it makes me question myself, Do I even like this stuff? And those questionable feelings are now void, because the pint I just brewed without much thought was exceptionally good.

Today's tea so far: 1 pint of Keemun black tea. Medium bodied, with some richness, and most surprisingly, sometimes, it's got floral notes coming through, like a darjeeling. minimal bitterness or astringency.

Also, I've just realized a gross miscalculation. One of the mugs I use looks bigger than the other mugs I use. They typically hold 12 fl oz., and my other big one holds 18 fl oz. I had assumed this was the same size as the other big one, but it in fact holds 24 fl oz. So when I've been brewing tea with this mug, the brew is at most, 66% as strong as typical. This is probably the major factor behind why the same tea tastes noticeably different.

It's pretty good, despite that I think it got a little stale from being in my cabinet for so long. It's got a very faded green color. I should switch it up with green tea more often.

I don't typically add anything to my tea because it's good already, and the other stuff either changes it to something very different that I don't find as good, or detracts from taste that I want.

Milk+sugar with masala chai.

If I'm out and about and the not home cabinet tea is kinda unpleasant, milk and sugar.
