girlfriend to stay at her house. Girlfriends sister lives a mile away from girlfriends mom, but doesnt want to help, tells girlfriend shes a brat for asking to trade days off instead of being 100% her. Girlfriends mom doesnt want to go let girlfriends dad take care of her because he is working two hours away (lives in apartment two hours away and visits on weekends)

Not sure when her mom will stop faking pain. Mom suddenly isnt in pain during church of book club hours or when wanting to go to restaurant. Girlfriend knows her mom is faking but feels like bad daughter to leave her mom alone.

American Colleg of Surgeons says you should be able to return to work 2-3 days after surgery, a bit longer if work is physically strenuous.

Girlfriend had unrelated minor surgery two weeks ago at same time, mom made her work cleaning house non-stop immediately after for five days (over weekend plus girlfriend had two days off) Girlfriend continues to clean hoarders home when not at work (because hoarders home nothing gets done) and sharing bed with lonely mom (because she makes daughters share bed if visiting).

Yes, they draw you in with false information.

But, I'll never recommend someone not to go to a university. Just to be smart about it. Take difficult math and english writing courses. In undergrad study to become intelligent and well-rounded. Do a basic science degree with a minor in an art or humanities, or flip that around.

In grad school study to get a job. Know too many physics PhDs who could only grab 20-40k/year intro engineering jobs.

Or if you want to bypass higher amounts of money and understanding of the world, just do a degree like engineering, nursing, accounting in undergrad so you're studying to get a job right off. You could just go to a tech school or community college if you're not planning on grad school tbh.

You also don't need college for a well paying job. But you do for a well paying job that's interesting where you'll be working with intelligent people.

Not teenagers with super powers always getting stronger.

Not acting super awkward around girls.

Not getting into ridiculously contrived situations.

No fan service.

No love triangles.

None of the weird sexual crap.

No shock value settings (which is whats most popular these days).

Like an actually good story, told in manga form, without the awful culture that comes with anime.

Buddha being an awesome manga series. Monster is cool too, though not quite as good. Gon is also cool, for what it is.

I don't think I'm the person who got the lowest grade in the group, so there's that.

I took a college level communications class back in high school. We basically had 400 percentage points to give to five people including ourselves. Two people in the group were datin, two were best friends, I was a junior and they were seniors, they were the stupid type not going to college, and in high school I was unsocial.

Better to learn the lesson now than when at work where it matters. Real world is no different. I got better by spending ears developing my social skills and would say Im in the top dozen of the department now.

Soft skills matter way more than technical skills, though are harder to prove you have. Even in a physics department *sigh*

Yeah, it's been on my mind. It's caused so many issues in her life. Tonight I'm going to have the talk with her and tell her that I'm going in leave her if she's not on track to getting her life in order a bit before my residency ends. As far as I know I've given her all the support I can, and the rest in on her.

She just needs to cut back family visits to maybe seeing them for dinner once a week or phone call. I wouldn't say the cards she got dealt were as bad as if their parent was an alcoholic or drug addict or violent, but they're not great.

Hoarding items to the extent that youre describing usually boils down to a metal disorder. Instead of insulting and hating them, maybe try and see if theyll see or talk to someone who might be able to help them.

It is definitely a mental disorder accompanying others. Everyone there has mental disorders, know it, and wont get help. Its sad but at some point you just have to cut ties with people who are holding your life back and think of your own future.

My girlfriend has issues too and has gone to therapy for a decade and has brought her family each to 1-2 sessions. They all know they need help, but are too embarsssed to give up heir public everything is perfect facade. If you wont take a basic step to helping yourself, eventually its on you. All your can do is give a person opportunity and resources and support, and eventually that has to end.

No wonder shes always over there cleaning for them. Even with her dedicating three days a week to cleaning their place it will never get better.
