Real estate is the best investment there is.

Id say this is false. Its actually business (stocks). Real Estate is in business, sure, but just about 4% of exposure for me. Also any invidious piece of real estate is highly risky like any individual stock.

Not really dieting or anything special. Just cut carbs and sugar, and the lbs have been shedding. Im 66. I probably eat too much meat now, but probably shedding some more lbs is good for me so gonna keep doing whats working and then eat healthier when the time comes. I need to start exercising too, I dont do much of that other than some short walks. Im not really following keto or anything as much as just having been worried about glucose levels, but I think this might be related to a keto diet.

But my blood levels also maybe indicated my kidneys arent doing as well as wed like, so I probably should lay off the meat sooner than later. Just barely out of normal range, but better to get to this stuff before its a serious issue. First blood test Ive had in likeover a decade. I really shouldve been getting them regularly.

I miss when the internet was a place of curiosity and exploration. These days its just conglomerates doing everything in their power to target your wallet.

Thats definitely a thing I miss. It feels like pretty much all amateur content is trying to make it a side hustle instead of just something being done for enjoyment.

Im only 32 but feel like I had less options when I grew up (cost/availability) which caused me to have more repeats and develop favorites and emotional attachments to specific media and I guess it felt like there was more uniqueness to individual things because there were less overall things within my attention. Now discovery is so easy and everyone into a media-based hobby has a constant stream of good quality stuff coming their way through some type of online discovery system.

iPad was about 4 years old, got the newest 12.7 pro used for $700. Was gonna sell the old for $400 but instead will give it to my gf so we can do procreate YouTube drawing tutorials together in the evenings <3. Overall, I notice no difference from my old one other than double the space.

iPhone was about 4 years old, got the newest 15 pro max for $370 with AT&T plan lock in that I was already on. Its alright, not a big difference from my old phone other than 4x the space.

Macbook was 11 years old. MacBook 16 pro 2021 was $1200 open box. I actually still mainly use my old one for everything work related which is what I got the new one for. New one is great and I notice a difference in size and speakers and ability to multitask heavy things I wouldnt normally multitask, but the 11 year old one still runs super well its just like 4 operating systems behind or something and I couldnt sync things to it as well for it not having new features in Notes and Messages and stuff.

Overall Im super happy with all the upgrades, but also I feel like one of those people who upgrade every year to the newestbut things just kinda lined up.

When leveling the Psypher do you just get the ATK+X or is there a hidden thing? So it would be more efficient for me to level up 6 things costing 25 Phozons each giving +1 ATK than take an ATK+6 Psypher for 205 Phozons?

I might have like a 5 week period without a night that didn't go to gaming with others, mostly in person.

I used to go 5 weeks between doing stuff with people at times.

Being an adult is weird. But I wonder if I'm just going to be wasting my 30s on relationships that I won't keep from eventually moving.

Maybe we need a kid or else we'll feel empty later in life. idk

Like I was so career/academic focused from middle school until my first couple of years on the job. But have been doing more fun stuff lately.

Now I have board game nights in-person 2-3 times a week (different people each night) and with video/board games with other IRL friends but online 2-3 nights a week and Ill usually get 2-3 nights a week rest from games where Ill usually just read about games and gets in a couple online games with strangers or maybe work on a solo game (board or video) or do something my girlfriend wants to go do, but she usually likes just staying home and watching the stories in single player games or watching tv. I still feel way more casual though and out of the loop compared to my friends into games.

I dont know what busy people actually do to make themselves busy. Im 31, for reference.

Dont trust eBay?
Wait for Amazon Prime day tomorrow to see if theres sales?

Usually I do but not for these two items actually. I think since colleges and high schools and businesses started issuing out devices more, they get stolen more. Then people buy them and dont realize theres MDM and try to resell, or just get their money back knowing its there. I generally trust eBay as a buyer, but not as a seller. Yeah Im thinking waiting for a better Amazon Warehouse deal might be my best bet, but Ill probably keep an eye out on Facebook while doing that. Alternatively I could get a 15 Air for $1050 flat straight from apple, but I was thinking why when I could get a 16 pro for $1300-1400 realistically if I go through (a vastly underestimated amount of) some hassle.

I can pretty much guarantee that any new electronics you find at appreciably less than retail price are stolen, outside of a small handful of instances where people buy them on sale then resell them later at more than the sale price but less than retail (and in that case, you also have the option to just wait for the same sales to come around). There's just no reason to buy something new, then turn around and sell it for less than you just paid.

Youd be surprised how often I used to find good deals I n the past, largely unused gifts and things won at work or such and people who upgrade every year and just dont want to deal with it, graduations, people just needing money. My parents will always have a buyer within an hour or two the few times a year they sell because they underprice it so much from just wanting things gone. I dont necessarily believe the deals are not thereIm just not used to having to deal with all the spam that looks like good deals but is fake. Though thinking about it when Im saying new I actually mean new-to-me and recent-ish and not like a conditionpoor communication on my part.

its weird that your topic about fbm being bad for purchasing apple products ends with an example that contradicts the premise

I thought so too. It was a pretty annoying process of meetups that never happened and incorrect devices and people who would read a message and not respond. But nowhere near as bad as dealing with macbooks and AirPods. The MacBook I should be able to maybe figure out, but about ready to say the AirPods for a decent deal are impossible (though this may depend on your area).

I used to use craigslist all the time, I mean I've once done 20+ meetups in a week and hundreds overall.

I got out of regularly using it for a decade or so and am now am just trying to get a new pair of AirPods Max and a new MacBook Pro and basically everything I can find is stolen or fake or a scam or listed hours away from the real location.

I've used facebook market for other things on occasion like chairs and video games and it's been okay but very annoying compared to my craigslist experience (which is basically dead now). Pretty good for selling things and also decent for buying things. But Apple products are a nightmare to deal with on there as a buyer. That being said, I did grab a new iPad last week for a pretty good deal.

It doesnt have the personality that other alcohol has, but its very smooth and super cheaper.

Also, some states shouldnt be able to be the only ones that can sell liquor in their state, that anti-competitive BS needs to die. Such a high markup without competition.

Oh, I guess I shouldve said I dont really do any PC gaming anymore, so all the games I just do the console (or used to play).

Co-op on starcraft II.

Good idea on Stellaris. I downloaded that a while back but completely forgot about it. Ill probably do that next and see how I like it,

Ive periodically looked at dungeon of the endless and have had my eye on endless dungeon too, I think Ive been waiting for endless dungeon to release before deciding.

Some of my top games that I view as infinitely replayable are:
Slay the Spire
FTL
Dead Cells
Civ (newest)
StarCraft II
Deathsmiles

Ive played a bunch of games like dicey dungeons and Andes and monster train and dont have much of an interest after beating a few times I cant really describe why these favorites stick out. Im okay with new genresIm looking at Anno 1800 and Rimworld. Im a console playerso I guess Im just looking for popular PC-first games maybe? Idk, maybe games with runs?

You're probably not doing anything worthwhile with a bachelor of physics, so why not at least have fun and take a degree in something interesting?

I went on to get a masters in medical physics and am part of the cancer treatment process which is useful, and I found my physics BS to be very interesting throughout the entire degree. But I have to say, almost all of my classmates who got a physics BS have higher paying jobs (with less hussle day to day) than the ones who went into non-STEM fields. While the subject matter itself may not be used in the day to day job for some, most are in positions that wanted physics/math/engineering degrees.
