The temperature of the Earth rises and falls many times over millions of years and what happens in 10 years is completely inconsequential to that. Saying its a defining characteristic that must be caused by man is egotistical beyond reason. Cinderella was the only good live action remake so far.

I thought Alice in Wonderland was good because instead of just telling the same story over and making minor changes thatd ultimately piss many people off they treated the live action movie as a sequel to the original animated film.

I havent seen Through the Looking Glass yet though to see if that was any good.

Well the world didnt end back in 2018 and I find it highly highly HIGHLY unlikely that climate scientists just went oops I was wrong and NOW were all going to die in 2032 instead.

Dont get me wrong as the planet will eventually get hotter but not because of humans anytime soon. The sun will eventually expand over several billion years and as it does the temperature of the Earth will rise. That likely accounts partially for the increase in temperature over the last several million years but any temperature changes over a couple of decades are a blimp on the radar on terms of scale. The temperature rises then falls repeatedly. Eventually it gets hotter overall.

Do you really think the pharmaceutical industry hasn't already looked at the possibility of adapting commercially-available surface disinfectants into antivrial drugs? That there hasn't already been centuries of demand for an easy fix for common and/or lethal viral infections? That a random layperson (which, when it comes to medical matters, is all Trump is) is actually going to be suggesting anything new by casually throwing such ideas out there?

Nobody who isn't completely clueless would have thought this was a worthwhile idea, and no clueless person with a modicum of self-awareness would have thought the medical professionals around him needed to hear it. That Trump felt the need to share this idiotic idea is a testament to just how cluelessly self-absorbed he is. You're not going to be able to convince anyone otherwise that doesn't already worship the man.

Or, and maybe youre just too common a layperson to think of this, maybe theres too much legislation preventing companies from adapting commercially available surface disinfectants into antiviral drugs and so its never really been looked to hard into before...

Someone once pointed out that odds are the main reason Disney is doing the remakes is so that they can retain copyright and trademark on characters who would otherwise lapse into public domain by presenting them in a different context. If true, it explains a lot of things about why those movies are the way they are.

While true, it ignores the fact that it doesnt change the copyright expiring on the original version. Im not saying the idea is wrong, Im saying that Disney is doing this but ultimately will lose in court in the end.
