Lmao. I thought about going to court to see if I could get it reduced, but I decided it wasn't worth it. The officer said on the ticket that I was going only 5 miles over when in reality i was going 19 miles over.

If that's your first ever speeding ticket, I can all but guarantee they would have thrown the ticket out completely if you go to court and just own up to it and say you made a mistake and won't do it again. Even if the cop gave you a break.

When I got my ticket, my only option was to mail it in pleading guilty or not guilty. I of course wanted to explain myself and would hope that the judge would let me off or reduce my fine since it was my first time, but I also didn't want to plead not guilty when I very clearly was.

That's common with traffic tickets. There's nothing wrong with pleading "not guilty" in order to request a court appearance, even when you know you're guilty. They won't hold it against you, it's how traffic court is set up.

Most judges and magistrates understand that the defendant is trying to catch a break, and that probably upwards of 90% are as guilty as the day is long. But you won't get a court date without pleading "not guilty"

In California if you plead not guilty you are immediately disqualified from traffic school if you get a guilty verdict. It's how they strongarm you into just paying the fine and walking away. They remind you like 4 or 5 times that if you are found guilty you will get points on your record and you will not be able to perform traffic school instead.

I live in SoCal LA where if you're not going 20 over the speed limit you're not even matching the speed of traffic. That being said I got a ticket for going 120 in the express lane lol.

You... didn't really seem to do anything special there. 4 monsters versus 1 suggests you just simply overpowered him. I had to depower his super powered monsters over 8 turns just to kill him all while staving off death at every instant.

I see that strategy now and again, but usually it's done with Tea because of her ability to not take battle damage when attacking with monsters.

I don't even use her so I didn't even know she had that ability lol... (^.^)'...

This is fantastic news. I've been waiting and hoping for this gradual change for a long time.

To add to the chart, I also wish we did 24 hours instead of two 12 hour increments. People get scared by the whole "oh six hundred hours" thing, but that's dumb, people would just say something like "14 o clock". This would lead to so much less confusion.

I'm still waiting for the world to recognize that timezones are BULLSHIT and just use one universal time... Because you know that obviously someone born at 1pm in Los Angeles is older than someone born at 2pm in Tokyo... Spoiler: He's not!

But alas, that change won't likely come until we actually colonize another planet and recognize that we need some point of reference to coordinate between them...

How long have you been dating this girl?

Just started, so like two weeks…? We haven't really gone out yet but we work together. I wrapped it for my newest girl. It took a few minutes to figure out the cuts and folds beforehand in my head so that it would have "Happy Birthday" facing upwards on five sides, but I got it right on my first go at it.

To be honest, it would really suck if we were the first sentient lifeforms in the universe. You are right and that someone quite literally HAS to be first to get there but I would imagine that no species would want to be that one. All alone. Even we keep looking for aliens because we expect there to be some. There's just no way that we could be first… Or so we think.

Actually, they can. Most stores have policies against it, but legally an employee can stop a shoplifter. There's no special law that designates loss prevention (which, by the way, is a separate function with no real presence at most retailers; a rep from the department might show up a few times a year) or security (which most retailers don't have anyway) as being the only people who can detain suspected thieves.

In this you are correct. While the commen man cannot legally detain someone unless they are making a citizen's arrest 'merchants' and their employees have special permissions to detain those persons they believe are shoplifting from their establishments. They cannot however exercise other procedures such as search and seizure of evidence unless the evidence is in plain view and is property of the establishment.
