She says she never intends for me to join the church, and she will never force me, but then she says she hopes i will watch a service or find love in Christ. This sounds a lot like how my church used to say they wont force anyone to join, but they heavily suggest it is better if you do.

She says no sex before marriage. I told her i dont just want sex, but i DO want to be able to express my feelings in an adult way when appropriate. I asked if this were a problem. I said i felt i would be the only one compromising. I asked her why marriage is the gate to real intimacy. She said she understands it is a psychological need, but marriage in God is what matters. A union or something. I feel like she avoided the real question there, and is beating around the bush, thinking it will end my worries.

Then she says shes sorry i feel so untrusting because of my past church issues, and said she prayed i felt love from Christ. Then she said she hopes i watch a church service, and if i like it, i never have to talk to her again (?????? English isnt her first language, so I hope she meant the opposite).

I feel like the whole thing is, he will find out host good God is, and then he won't need anything else and he will feel like i do.

Im talking to this girl. Shes nice. We have the same career, same interests, but she is very religious. Im.. Not religious, but I believe in some things, but I was burnt badly by a cult when I was younger, so Im very weary of manipulation in the name of God.

Anyway, she keeps putting on pressure about dating, but i know she says no sex before marriage. It isnt that im only trying to get that, but . I also dont feel like not being able to ever feel close to her, or being judged for not having the same values.

Then i start to worry, cause she talks about compromise. That i will end up compromising, to fit her needs. And that she can lie, because she has the higher moral ground, in her eyes.

Am i overthinking, or is this her trying to kick the can down the road until i magically convert?

Brother called me, told me stepdad (who was basically my dad growing up) is under investigation for taking videos of kids. It is pretty new and my brother couldnt get into the details.

Im. Kind of lost right now. He was always a violent asshole when I was young. He targeted me a lot, and would scare the crap out of me, hit me, and other violent acts. I dont remember anything sexual, but I always felt there was something weird behind it. Im worried ive blocked something out, because there were signs that something was going on with him. My mom had even asked me before if he had done anything to me. His whole family is full of weirdo alt-righters, and even some extreme hippies too. Im remembering more and more weird stuff growing up, and it sadly makes sense.

Im a teacher. I knew i grew up abused, and i never wanted to lead by force and always tried to listen and learn before acting.

I really hated him growing up. I remember one of the last things he ever did before he got divorced, was throwing me down on the ground and threatening me, i think hitting me, because i was teasing my brother (his son).

my other brother grew up violent, alcoholic, and cant get his life together. My other brother is a little weird too.

im ranting now, but i literally feel sick and i hate knowing that he has been doing this, and maybe even did it to me or my family. I hate him so much. He has manipulated me and made me hate myself as a kid, i dont even know what to think now, so i will stop.

Being yourself doesnt work if you always project the bad side of yourself.

Honestly, Dr Strange 2 is really bad. Not only does it really dumb down every character, but it also ignores a lot of established things, and causes a bunch of logical issues as well.

Plus the entire Memory Lane thing was so contrived. It felt straight out of a fanfic.

Im for real. I see people posting about the wrestlers and whatever.

Ive always just viewed it as acting and mostly fake-fighting. It is all scripted and meant to sell merch and stuff. The fighting look extremely fake for the most part, and the personalities seem fake as well.

The only appeal I can see is either people think it is actually real and the drama is actually happening, or people just like the fakeness and roll with it, like soap operas or Shonen anime escapism.

Can someone give me another perspective?

Rockstar can just say it is fake and everyone will forget.

Probably a bit of this for sure, but Konami has been going balls deep in releasing collections of their old classics. Castlevania, Contra, TMNT, Suikoden, Silent Hill, and MGS are arguably their biggest IPs. Four them are now getting the remaster and/or collection treatment.

Bemani and sports games are pretty much what carries them. Dont forget that they dominate Japanese arcades. They have even been getting back into home releases with PC versions of those games. MGS is like a once in a while release.

There's a lot of one dimensional characters and ones people forget solely due to the amount of characters the game has. You'd think people would learn from Chrono Cross that having a ton of party members only works if it is something like Pokemon or Xcom, not a regular JRPG like Suikoden.

Yeah but every party member has a role in the game. At least they do something in the castle, like cook, offer hints, sell stuff, or play a story role like war general, guard, etc.
