I'm kinda bummed that Captain America really didn't have a "moment" with Thanos. Of course he didn't have his proper shield so I assume at some point he's gonna get to smack Thanos in the face with it.

It was low-key but they kinda had a moment at the end when Cap was trying to push back Thanos's Gauntlet hand, Thanos looked like he was thinking "shit, this dude is kinda legit" before he punched him in the face with his other hand

I thought it was a pretty bog standard Marvel origin story, so basically "fine" but ultimately the same old Iron Man/Captain America story with a different set of powers. Some of the visuals were neat and Humperdink Bandersnatch did a great job, but I wasn't upset I missed it in theaters when I watched the movie on Netflix. I did like Strange in Infinity War so I'm looking forward to his next solo movie.

6-6 finished. Somehow I expected it to be a hotter mess just based on how these threads have talked about it, but it just ended up being kind of bland and mediocre. I suppose I see the disappointment if you were hyped up for a grand reunion case between all the old cast members.

6-5 completed. That was a ride!

I'll try to post some final thoughts later on. For now, I'll just say that the last big twist genuinely caught me off guard and actually made me think back to all the related plot points, only to realize it made perfect sense. Finally nailing the culprit was almost as satisfying as Engarde.

The "contradiction" you have to point out in Amara's photo is pretty dumb if you've guessed the twist (which has been heavily telegraphed at this point). You have to play along with this weird assumption that Amara couldn't have had another baby based only on Dhurke's word.

First recess.

Amara = Nayna theory still going strong. Amara channeling Dhurke theory is slightly more shaky now that it seems certain that Inga was already dead, but it's still possible if it's some kind of convoluted gambit by Dhurke to sacrifice himself in order to take down Ga'ran and reinstate Amara on the throne. Anyway, the "Dhurke" in the seance vision must be a plain old disguise because he definitely was still alive at that point.

I thought of prosopagnosia when I saw Inga's notepad, way to crib a plot point from a certain other mystery VN. Not sure about who was channeling 2:30 Inga, but I guess I'll find out soon enough.

End of 6-5 Investigation 2. Things are about to get crazy and I think I might (partially) know how.

First of all, I think Nayna is Amara. Both have the diamond on their foreheads, and we've never gotten to see Nayna's hair. Also, Amara might be Rayfa's real mother??? The timeline does not match Nahyuta, he's said to be 25 years old and there's no way that's a two-year-old in the picture they found in the safe. It would also explain Nayna's devotion to Rayfa and hide her in plain sight.

Now this is where things get really crazy. I think Dhurke is already dead and Amara is channeling his spirit. Consider the facts:

- Khura'in royalty know the art of spirit channeling.
- Nayna (who is Amara) has been missing since an hour before the murder.
- Dhurke tells Apollo he will soon be dead even if he is found innocent. This is in fact because he already HAS died.
- When Maya channelled Tahrust Inmee, she took on his appearance except for the hair. I don't remember if this was explained or if it was just a visual gag, but even if it's a rule that spirit mediums keep their own hair, remember that we have never seen Nayna's hair. Amara had long hair, so it's a safe assumption that she still does, and there was a can of black hair dye in Inga's residence.

Ergo! When Dhurke went into Amara's tomb, Nayna/Amara must have already been there with Inga. I'm not yet sure who ended up killing Inga, but Dhurke must have also lost his life, probably to a gunshot from Inga. Amara then channeled his spirit to transform into Dhurke, and hid the real Dhurke's body inside the sarcophagus. She (or they, if Dhurke did not die immediately) came up with this plan in order to keep the flame of the rebellion burning just a little longer, because things are already on the brink and Dhurke's death could have dealt a fatal blow to the Defiant Dragons.

Now, I don't have all the pieces to the puzzle figured out, like what Inga's role is in all of this and how Amara came to be Nayna when she was supposedly being held captive, but I think Nayna being Amara and Dhurke being dead are going to be two big twists in the trial.

Obviously don't either confirm or deny any of this, I just wanted to record it for posterity and bragging rights when it turns out I was like 90% correct.

6-5 trial 1, throwing it in tags on the off chance Giggs checks in

I figured Phoenix representing Atishon would be either a scheme or another case of blackmail, and I guessed it was the latter immediately when I saw Maya's conspicuous absence. It's a bit of a bummer not only because it reduces Maya to a damsel in distress yet again, but also because it would have been more fun to face the complete dynamic duo with Apollo and Athena. Of course, it does make sense that Maya wouldn't be able to just leave Khura'in because of the huge political implications caused by 6-3, and it was neat to be on the other side of one of these kidnapping cases, as well as one of those legendary insane last-minute Phoenix objections.

I really liked Armie Buff, she struck me as the most realistic "psychology witness" we've had since the mood matrix concept was introduced. Might have gotten just a little misty-eyed when she got up from her wheelchair at the end.

Excited to see where things go from here. I'm guessing Phoenix and gang will end up learning the founder's name from Rayfa, so a pre-emptive RIP to the current queen.

All the weird, extremely Japanese shit is the best part of 6-4. Nahyuta explaining Time Soba has been his best bit so far, and Blackquill secretly(?) being a huge dork is always good. I'll agree with Giggs about the soba/udon part being bad. I also didn't like all the balloon boob jokes, and the case has one of the least likable defendants in the series - I was more sympathetic towards Simon's plight of potentially losing his favorite noodle joint.
