you can't get Ampharos in Crystal

oh yeah i'm going to not use anybody i've already used in previous Gen 2 playthroughs (even if it was 12 years ago or something) so if i can remember correctly

S: Feraligatr, Slowbro, Red Gyarados, Umbreon, Togetic, Noctowl
C: Meganium, Arcanine, Dragonair, Jynx, Lanturn, Xatu
G: Typhlosion, Ursaring, Ampharos, Mantine, Sudowoodo, Ariados

SS: Ninetales, Lapras, Espeon, Tauros, Farfetch'd, Dragonair, Donphan

new idea: savescum the Odd Egg for one of Tyrogue, Elekid, or Magby (3/7 chance so it shouldn't be too bad). Use whichever one you roll first (can still evolve it tbc).

also fun fact I actually looked through my ancient Crystal strategy guide and its encounter tables to get inspiration for pokemon suggestions, still a great resource after all these years (despite it starting to fall apart from age orz)

i didn't even know about the Egg so i already saved after getting it lool. not hatched yet but whatever is in it is set afaik. i just got fly so things have opened up and the Pokemon i've been using so far are pretty much placeholders.

Marowak sounds cool tho.

yeah, since it's Crystal you can buy a Cubone from the Goldenrod game corner, it should come with Bone Club too if I'm reading the level-up moves right
